Dear Grandpa, I am kind of bummed...... MHS lost last Friday. We were playing at Wichita Northwest and lost in the last few minutes, 19-15. We had many chances to win, but a few BAD calls (I don't like to blame losses on blown calls, but in this situation it is definitely warranted) mixed with turnovers at bad times lost it for us. So, we just hope that we get to play them in playoffs, because we know MHS will reign victorious if we do. T-Minus 6 days until the big KSU season opener! Can't wait. Although I am not sure if it will be in manhattan or not-I personally don't think they will have the stadium done. 6 days, and they still haven't even gotten the shipment of benches for the top deck, let alone begun to put them in. Also, on the middle deck, they have bolted down the backs to the chairs, but haven't put in the seat part of the seats yet! So, they have to hurry! Looks like they will be working on Labor Day. I saw that UGA won against Utah State yesterday. I hope they aren't too tough, we have to play them too. Our non-conference foes are as follows: Temple, Utah State, and UTEP( U. of Texas at El Paso). Shouldn't be too tough. Today we went to the "Cool Cats Jazz Festival" at the Manhattan Sunset Zoo. It was good as usual. We heard some great jazz, ate some great pizza, and saw some cool animals. They just completed building a new primate house, so we saw many neat gorilla/monkeys/orangutans. Also, there was this weird bird that looked like a mix between a duck and a turkey. It was pretty funny. and the sound it made was like a Dog chew toy. Interesting animal. Well, I guess that's all. Over and out. Love, Jeremy
