Temple Of The Rock

THE ZE R O S

Updated July 5, 2002!
Another list of inductees have finally been chosen to be enshrined into the TIMELESS GODS Temple of the Rock.

The bands in the TEMPLE of the ROCK are

BLUE CHEER

Blue Cheer's wah peddle was all that it took for San Francisco's Flower Power Pack to escape back to their den of Grateful Dead inspired smoke ins.

BILLY CHILDISH

While many consider BILLY CHILDISH to be king of modern garage rock, this British mate simply plugs away with prolific recording sessions.

THE CRAMPS

Call the CRAMPS swamp rock, garage, or whatever, you can not contest the greatness of Lux, Poison Ivy and company. They have even recorded at Memphis, TN's famous Sun Studios.

THE CREATION

Much better mod outfit than The Who!

CRIME

The only punk band that ever mattered in San Fran!

BO DIDDLEY

Mischievious child, BO DIDDLEY is one. One of America's influencial acts, this guy simply has a rip roaring guitar style on his famous box shaped axe.

THE FLAMIN' GROOVIES

A band that has ended up playing very persistently, the Flamin Groovies should be best known for their under three minute rockers.

THE HEARTBREAKERS

Not only was Johhny Thunders an important specimen in THE HEARTBREAKERS.... well they are arguably the best punk rock band to grace the streets of the Bowery.

THE MOTOR CITY FIVE

The MC5 did not receive fair recognition in their day, but have ended up becoming one of the most influential bands, EVER.

THE RAMONES

Everything has already been said about these Queens, NY rockers. R.I.P. Joey.

PAUL REVERE AND THE RAIDERS

Columbia Records enlisted PAUL REVERE AND THE RAIDERS as their first rock-n-roll act in 1963. History has never been the same.

QUESTION MARK AND THE MYSTERIANS

Known for a hit (96 Tears) sometime in the sixties and another tune that an "alternative" band (SMASHMOUTH) disgraced.

RADIO BIRDMAN

A band people either loved or hated, RADIO BIRDMAN is not loathed in the TEMPLE of the ROCK.

REAL KIDS

John Felice and company injected a mojor dose of (emphasize) power-pop into their veins. Energy is definately not lacking, while the melodies make these Boston rockers timeless.

THE SONICS

The SONICS started as as an instrumental band, but soon discovered that a lead singer was required in order to maximize their rock. Later on, their sonic version of rock-n-roll was refered to as "punk rock."

THE STANDELLS

The STANDELLS were a vital staple on LA's rioting Sunset Strip in the 1960's. This band reformed in the late 1990's, proving that they still have some "Dirty Water," in their soul.

THE STOOGES

Any rock-n-roll hall of fame would be incomplete without the STOOGES. Wake up Cleveland.

THE WAILERS

Wanting to just rock, it turned out that the WAILERS were responsible for the formation of Northwestern rock-n-roll.

LINK WRAY

Even though Link has doodled in various music genres, this guitar god is most worshipped for "Rumble."

THE ZEROS

An L.A. punk rock legend lives on.
