1.) My name is Scott Stevens and this is a story about one of my best friends, Frank.
It was a sunny day in the nice little town of Poway.  And to make the day even better, it was the last day of school.  Every teenager that attended my school was going to be at some sort of party....including me.  Me best friend Frank was throwing a party for all our friends, which is actually the largest group of people at my school.
Right after school I went home with Frank to help him set up for the Party.  The party was up and running a little bit late, but it didn't seem like anybody cared.  Everybody was having a blast. Then the worst thing in the world happened.  I found out later that the reason people were late was because they had to get the "beverages", If you know what I mean.
I was a little bit thirsty so I went to the Kitchen were all the stuff was.  When I got there I was horrified at what I saw.  There was a liquor cabinet that was left slightly opened and very empty, and the room had every hard liquor imaginable.  The room reeked of beer and other alcohol smells.  As I stood there in utter horror, I heard a loud shriek.  I turned and ran out to the back yard, and as I approached the back door I saw who was screaming.  It was Zoe, Frank's girlfriend.  As I moved closer to her I found out why she was screaming.  Frank had gotten drunk and hit is falling into the pool.
I jumped in after him not even thinking of anything else to do.  I brought him up and a couple of guys helped me pull him out of the pool.  I yelled, "CALL 911!!!!".  By this time Zoe had drawn in quite a crown and everybody was trying to find out what was wrong.  I knew what I had to do, of course I had to do it because he was my best friend.  I propped his head up and proceeding to administer CPR.  I kept pushing in on his chest, praying to myself for his life.  Just when I was about to give up, Frank began coughing up water.  I turned him onto his side so that he wouldn't choke on the water he was coughing up.
The paramedics arrived a few minutes later and Frank was still coughing up a little water.  The paramedics strapped him into the ambulance and rushed him to the hospital.  Zoe and I followed.  I had just gotten my license so I drove because she was too shook up.  when we got there we waited in the waiting room for about an hour.  The doctor finally came out and pulled us out of the waiting room and into an office.  He said, I am very sorry about having to tell you this, but..." Zoe began to cry again and leaned over to me."...We lost him. If you would like to see him one last time you can."  Zoe was crying to hard to answer, but I new that I needed to see him one last time.  I walked out of the office and saw his parents coming in.  I was bombarded with all their questions, so I told them the bad news.  His mother acted the same exact way that Zoe did when she found out.  The three of us (His mom and dad, and I) walked over to the elevator and as we walked to his room i told them the whole story.  Frank's mom was the first one into the room. She ran to the side of the bed and began crying.  I walked over to the other side of the bed and took frank's hand in mine.  My eyes began to tear up more and more.  I looked at my best friend on his death bed and a single tear rolled down my cheek.  Frank's mom grabbed his other hand and looked at his class ring.  She took it off his finger and walked over to me.  She opened my hand and put the ring in my palm.  "I want you to have this because you two were the best of friends and you guys were always there for each other.  Even when you guys were little, you would lie for each other so you didn't get in trouble."  I giggled a little but soon stopped myself and gave his mom and dad a big hug.  They both left the room , but i wanted to stay a little longer.  I sat by his bed and took his hand in mine and said this, "You were and are my best friend.  You will always have a special place in my heart.  I will never ever forget you."  I stood up and pulled his blanket up over his face.  I looked at the ring and a single tear fell and hit it right on his name. I put the ring on my finger, looked at it for a second then began to walk out of the room.  I turned around and said, "Good Bye Frank."
