


This is a page about a trek in the Lower Himalayas
For me conventional holidays are as exciting as brushing my teeth, so I gave them up a long time ago.
My first Himalayan experiance was in 1996 when I went to Auli for a skiing holiday. The place was fascinating but even more fascinating and spell binding was the journey through the mountains to get there.The rays of the sun bouncing of the snow capped mountains and falling upon the rushing water of the Ganges making it apppear a thousand shades of blue and green, the birds and monkeys chattering at you from the trees and the locals now and then giving you an hesitant smile.
These things and a thousand more have endeared the Himalayas to me and I have to keep going back again and again
The trek that this page is about, was selected from one of the many in the guide book
The trek is called the Dodi Tal and beyond trek. The highest point is the Darwa Pass (4150 mts. above sea level)
