"We’re being haled."  Kim said altering the captain.

"I’ll be right there."  She replied from her ready room.

Kather Janeway of USS voyager walked onto the bridge.  "On screen." She
demanded.

Everyone stared at the screen.  Kathern blinked several times.  "I’m
Captain Janway of USS Voyager."

The girl on screen smiled.  "I’m Amdis."

Kathern looked quizzically at the 17 year old. "What can I do for you
Captain Amdis."

"Well, this is kind of embarrsing actually, I was wondering, might you
give me a chair?"

"A," she paused. "a chair?"

"Yes, a chair.  You see, I’m planing to throw a small dinner party for
some friends and found myself not to have enough chairs."

"Just one chair?" Janway asked.

"Well, yes.  I don’t have any latinum with me, left it all in the Alpha
quadrant." She said this with a shrug.  "I’ll barter for it if you
wish."

"Wh- um- what would you like to trade?" She asked.

"I have some, um," Amdis looked around her bridge.  She stood up out of
her chair and out of the view of the screen.  She came back carrying a
lamp. "How ‘bout this?" She asked.

"A, a lamp?" She asked.

"Um, I’d trade you a chair for a chair, but, um, I don’t have a chair."
Amdis pointed out.  "Unless you want my captains chair, but is worth at
least two chairs."

"Sure, um.  Would you like to come abourd, to um, pick out a chair?"

Amdis thought this over a moment.  "That would be lovely, thanks for the
invitation."
