Uncertainty of the Heart

By: Brandy Jackson

When I close my eyes I see you
When I open them you are there
Why are your eyes so welcoming
When I can feel that you don't care

I try to give up these feelings
I'm fighting my own heartbreak
Even though you don't know
Your all of this girls heartache

Your arms pull me toward you
Your insincerity pushes me astray
It's more than a struggle trying to live
Without giving myself away

I don't understand the reasons
But I'm sure it's all in myself
Innocent, young, little girl
Wallowing in the fake notions you deal out

Maybe I'm wrong
Maybe you do care
Maybe inside you, you feel like me
What if your heart isn't so bare

Maybe tomorrow you'll tell me
That you've loved me from the beginning
You love me like the stars love the moon
Beautiful, devoted, for always, never ending

But for tonight I'll remind myself
That it's not me your heart belongs to
But there is nothing I can do about
Mine belonging to you
