BASIC 1 and BASIC 2

Basic 1

Basic 1...white belt poomse...

There are 20 counts in this poomse...every stance is long and only are two moves...punches and downblocks..

***tip: same leg same arm...=)

Steps:

1~ Down block to the left

Begin by steping in a long stance to your left with you left leg out, raising your hands in a cross abover your head...then bring left hand down about two inches abover your knee with power...

2~ Step Punch

Step with your right leg into another longstance...punch with your right hand...make sure to twist your punches ALWAYS...

3~ Turn Down block

Turn your right toe in and lift you back leg...step out into a longstance in the opposite direction...do another downblock above you left leg again...

4~ Step punch

As above...take a step with right leg and punch of right hand...

5~ Down block to the front

a bit trickier....step to the front in a long stance, the way you were facing when you started, with your left leg and do a downblock as above....

6~ Step Punch

Step with your right leg into a longstance and punch with right hand

7~ Step Punch

Step with your left leg and punch with left hand

8~ Step Punch **Kyop**

Step with right leg and same time you punch with right hand and yell kyop **Key-ap**

9~ Down Block with Left Hand to the Right

Ok, this is a bit difficult to explain. Turn you right toe in and raise you back foot allowing you to turn 270 degrees and down block with left hand.

10~ Step Punch

Step with your right foot and punch off your right hand.

11~Turn Down Block Left

Turn your right toe in and spin in the opposite direction leaving your front foot in place and lifting your back (left) leg. Down Block with your left arm.

12~Step Punch

Step with your right leg into a long stance and punch with your right hand.

13~Down Block Back

As earlier when you downblocked to the fround you down block to the back (the opposite way you were facing when you started). Step with you left leg and down block with your right arm.

14~Step Punch

Step with you right leg and punch with your right hand.

15~Step Punch

Step with you left leg and punch with your left hand.

16~Step Punch **Kyop**

Step with your right leg and punch with your right hand. Make sure to scream ***Kyop*** when you extend your punch.

17~Down Block with Left Hand to left

Also difficult to explain...Turn you right toe in and turn 260 degrees and down block

18~Step Punch

Step with right leg and punch with your right arm.

19~Turn Down block

Turn your right toe in and lift you back leg...step out into a longstance in the opposite direction...do another downblock above you left leg.

Step Punch

Step with right leg and punch with your right arm.

Burro...Shur.....you are finished...Burro means return to ready or Junbe and shur means to relax...if you weren't sure...always bow when the instructor says shur...

Next we are going to learn Basic 2...This form is to recieve you yellow belt...It is much like basic 1...almost exactly the same...There are only 2 differences...on you 1, 3, 9, 11, 17, and 19 steps the blocks are high blocks
