Thank you for the privilege of working with your kids at our Children's Theater Workshop and early evening performance. If this is a full performance by the 6-person troupe, the workshop takes 2 hours and kids should be in the 5 to 9 age range. If this is a solo performance by Larry, the workshop takes one hour and, since the part is much simplier, younger kids with parents present can participate. The afternoon workshop is designed as an introduction to theater, so no previous experience is necessary. We will do some simple warm-up exercises, talk about "being in character," practice our parts and get comfortable with the outfits (rat noses and ears). We have enough costumes for 10 kids, so that is the size limit for the workshop. We will need at least one parent, preferably two, to assist with managing the kids at the workshop and the performance. All parents, of course, are invited to attend the workshop with your children if you so desire. Video and still cameras at the workshop and performance are encouraged; this is going to be fun for everyone, and you will want to capture the memories.
Below are some pictures from our most recent workshop, September 26th, 2009 in Great Bend, Kansas.
