This is also true in the natural; if one accustomed to the indoors - and
the light thereof - should be led outside by someone on a bright,
snow-covered day, they might recoil sharply, returning to the indoors (to
the light of men), or by veils and shields of dark glasses, squinting and
shadows, they may be able to endure for a time; but as blindness sets in -
and it surely will - the unsuspecting pilgrim is dependent upon his guide -
the one who led him into the light. . .
This is a perilous state where dangerous ditches and ferocious wolves
prevail. Shall we here apply the prophecy - "wherever there is a dead body
the vultures will gather?". . .
This being the case, let us proceed now to look back, at the words we have
spoken - and those we have heard - to examine if any of "this" has
transpired in our lives; perhaps even at our own hands! Thus causing
retardation in growth, death, or dismemberment. . .
Perhaps "giving that which is holy to the dogs, and casting one's pearls
before swine" is equally hazardous for the animals - becoming a halter by
which the unscrupulous rule over them for prestige and profit. . .
Now, of course, the blame cannot fall upon the Light, but rather upon the
efforts and strengths of careless men, at best; at worst - it is the result
of the schemes of deceivers, using mirrors to reflect the true Light upon
the darkness of their own shadowy words and works - aiming only to entice
and enslave. . .
Could this be why Jesus has sent the Holy Spirit to teach us all things,
and not men? . . . Even saying, "my sheep know my voice, another they will
not follow!" He also warned - "beware of the leaven of the Pharisees'". .
.. and again advising - "call no man teacher, for you have one Teacher, and
you are all brothers". . .
