We hope that this note finds you well and enjoying the Lord's blessings.
Yesterday we were at the airport seeing off a work team. They had been here in the country for the past two weeks, working on the church building in the Northern city of Las Terrenas. It was an exciting two weeks with these folks from Washington and California. They were able to accomplish much work and establish wonderful relationships with the church people there. Most of the physical labor involved installing form lumber and rebar for the roof of the large building- hopefully within the next couple of weeks the local congregation will be able to pour the concrete roof and then remove the wood forms. Then with the roof on their new building they should be able to hold services there. This is exciting, as they are currently meeting in a small house that has been adapted to hold the capacity crowd of around 50 people.
We are now between teams, as we are expecting another group to arrive this next Saturday. They too will be working on a church building in the Northern part of the country. Their project also involves working on the concrete roof for a new building. This church is smaller and, Lord willing, the team will actually pour the concrete roof during their one week stay in the country.
Last night we talked with Letty's family in Mexico and they tell us that her dad is not doing very well. David had a heart attack last summer and since has struggled to keep his blood sugar balanced. They said that he even stayed home from church on Sunday morning- so he must be feeling pretty bad- We would apreciate your prayers for him now.
We are thankful for your prayers as we continue to work with these teams here in the DR and prepare to move back to the States and to our new position and ministry from Nogales, Arizona. We are again seeking prayer and financial partners for this new ministry- you should be receiving more details in the mail in the next few days concerning this. Thank you for the love and support that we have received during these past two years. May the Lord continue to bless you,
Ken, Letty and Nathan Myers
