Greetings,

September 99

We praise the Lord for His many blessings, He truly has been wonderful to us! We pray that you too are enjoying His many blessings.

Just like most folks, we have had an extremely busy summer. There were five different teams that worked here in the Dominican Republic through VISA programs between June and August. We had the pleasure of working alongside three of those teams.

We spent two weeks in June working in the city of La Romana with a team from Champaign, Illinois. They spent their days laying block walls on the second floor of a church building that was basically destroyed by hurricane Georges. Praise the Lord for His provision in the rebuilding of this facility. They also worked with the children of the community, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. What a wonderful two weeks!

In July we traveled to the North Coast to the city of Sanchez. There we worked for a week with a team from Watervliet, Michigan. They too were involved in helping a church rebuild after the devastating hurricane. Again we had a great time with the North American team and with the local Dominican church.

In late July, We made a quick trip to Florida, to work out some issues with the US Immigration Service. We have applied for a permit which will allow Letty to reside outside the US for up to two years. Please pray with us this concern.

In August we worked along with a group of 19 youth from Greenville, Illinois. They worked; in the mornings painting, and in the afternoons hosting VBS for the church and neighborhood children. They worked in three different churches and also held evangelistic services in each church. What a busy week and a half! One of the youth became painfully ill during their last evening here and we took her to the hospital emergency room- they had to do an emergency appendectomy. Some people leave their hearts on the mission field- she left her appendix.

Thank you for praying for our housing concern. We have found a house and have just finished moving. We were concerned that we would not find a house within our budget- the Lord provided! We now live in a nice little three-bedroom house in a safe, quiet, residential neighborhood. We have a little patio and even space for a small garden. There is no need to update your address book- we still have the same address- C/O Lynx Air SD-DR, PO Box 407052, Ft Lauderdale, FL 33340. Our email is still the same- klmyers@tricom.net

In June we were informed that our health insurance premium was going up 25%. Wow! That is a big difference- Please pray with us that this difference in our budget will somehow be met.

We are so thankful to the Lord for His way of meeting our needs, and to YOU for all the support that we receive, thank you!!! It is awesome to think that there is a blanket of people praying for us and for our ministry from Canada to Mexico, from California to New York, from Florida to Washington and many, many places in between. Thank you.

May the Lord bless you,

Ken, Letty and Nathan.
