Out In All Weathers

By Kathy Savige

Last week was a horrible one for five of our favourite riders. On each weekday a rider met with a different danger and suffered with different types of weather. Can you identify what troubles met each rider on which day?

The most hair-raising adventure of the week came on Friday when a rider arrived back at the waystation bruised all over from being tossed about by the edge of a tornado; this was not the same day that Jimmy was on duty.

Kid's ride started at 6.00 am Wednesday morning.

The hail came the day after Cody delivered a message for Col. Fenton at Ft. Laramie.

The buffalo stampede occured the day after one rider met a crazy prospector who tried to shoot him.

Buck was fortunate to get away from a group of Cheyenne warriors the day before the first snow of winter came.

The encounter with a rattlesnake was on Monday, which was not the day a rider got soaked by torrential rain.

Ike was not the rider who had to avoid the bear.

Riders: Buck, Kid, Jimmy, Cody, and Ike

Dangers: Buffalo Stampede, Cheyenne warriors, bear, buffalo stampede, rattlesnake
