Yes, you CAN get The Ocean Tribe, starring Gregg Rainwater.

(please see important information below. I take no responsibility for problems.)

I'm a very happy Buck fan. I managed to get a copy of The Ocean Tribe after many years of internet searching, and vain hoping that it would come on Australian TV. It was only released in Italy and Japan, and to be honest, I'd given up. But it arrived today! It is in both Italian and English, and yes, it is Gregg's voice in the English audio track.

How?

First, I did a search at Google for it - found the film available in both Japan and Italy. I don't speak either language, but found that you can

The Italian Internet Bookshop www.internetbookshop.it (Direct Ocean Tribe page

http://www.internetbookshop.it/dvd/ser/serpge.asp?ty=kw&x=ocean+tribe) has copies available, and I simply copied the text from their pages into the translator. I won't say it was perfect - you get some very creative versions of the English translation, but IT WORKED! I used my Visa card - no problems at all.

A couple of things you should know:

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY = VERY IMPORTANT!

Caveat Emptor: Let the Buyer Beware.

This DVD is Italian, therefore it is a PAL Zone 2 DVD. It is vital that you check whether your DVD and TV will accept and play this DVD without distortions before you buy it. Check your TV and DVD player manuals beforehand.

I know that my DVD will play DVDs from other zones, and my TV will read both PAL and NTSC input.

DVD Zones

Zone 1 – USA, Canada
Zone 2 – Western Europe and Japan
Zone 3 – Asia
Zone 4 – Australia, New Zealand, South and Central America
Zone 5 – Eastern Europe, Africa and India
Zone 6 – China
Zone 0 or Multi-Zone Discs – should play in any DVD player worldwide. But a lot of these discs are manufactured in NTSC.

What is the difference between PAL and NTSC formatted DVDs?

PAL (Phase Alternate Lines) Vs. NTSC (National Television Standards Committee)
DVD has brought with it a similar problem we had with video and laser disc, with the two main formats not being compatible with each other. Most televisions have been designed over the past few years to accept both PAL and NTSC. But say for example if you play a NTSC DVD on a PAL system television the picture on your monitor will be distorted in black and white.
