Marv Smith is the boys head track and cross country coach. Marv is in his 35 year of coaching at IHS. He is the coach of the sprints, relays, and hurdle events. He is also the Chemistry and physical science teacher. Marv is a great motivator and excellent recruiter for his program. With his positive attitude he gets the most out of kids. He was awarded 3A track coach of the year in 1976 as the coach of the state championship team.
David Roe
David Roe is the Jumping events coach for the boys track team. He is in his 24 year of coaching. He graduated from Pittsburg State where he did the decathlon for the Gorillas. In high school he was a 2 time state champion in Pole Vault as well as a state record holder for a few years. Coach Roe is the Self Improvement teacher at the school.
Jane Stout
Jane Stout is the Distance runners coach. Coach stout has coached for 20 years. She has had great success with her 4 by 800 teams going to state 16 out of 20 years. She teaches computer technology and a few other computer classes at the school.
Vince Coons
Vince Coons is the throwing events coach. Coach Coons has coached for 12 years. He has coached many good throwers here at IHS. He teaches Earth Science at the school and also coaches scholar bowl.
