The Georgia Jaycee Congress began in the summer of 1978 as an honorary organization within the Georgia Jaycettes. It's membership includes State and National organization presidents, outstanding local presidents and members, and Jaycees/Jaycettes who made lasting impressions on the Jaycee movement at every level.
Reorganization in 1990 opened membership to all Jaycees, male or female. In addition, the Congress dedicated itself to assisting the Georgia Jaycees in the Individual Development areas and sponsoring state awards. In 1992, the Congress established the "The Rena Swank Memorial Public Relations Chapter of the Quarter/Year" award honoring public relations efforts of the local chapter.>
