Jan 25 Britney Spears mini stickers are now being placed in various vending and candy machines. So far, they have been spotted at Genovese, Key Food and Pergaments. I'm sure you may be able to find these at the Big K where you put in the 2 quarters and then push and pull and the sticker comes out of the top. Jan 24 Britney is on the cover of this month's "Mizz" magazine, which is a teenage magazine for girls in the UK. There is a double page article on Britney talking about what Britney thinks she will be doing in 30 years time, also with a funny pic of what they will think Britney will look like then. Jan 22 Britney Spears has been awarded her second United Kingdom number 1 with 'Born To Make You Happy' this week, beating off top competetor Donell Jones! Her last UK number 1 was with 'Baby One More Time' 11 months ago in February 1999, but 'Sometimes' only got to number 3 and 'Crazy' only made it to number 5. But she did it this time, so well done Britney! Britney nominated at France's NRJ Music Awards Britney is nominated both for Best Song ("Baby One More Time") and Best New Artist at the NRJ Music Awards in France. The show will be held this Sunday in Cannes, and will be broadcast nationally on TF1. Chances of Britney attending the show are minimal, however I'm sure she has a pre-recorded message if she wins. Jan 20 A United Kingdom tabloid is reporting that Britney is looking to purchase a house in London's Primrose Hill area, which would cost her about 1.5 million dollars. The 'magazine' goes on to say that Brit is looking for a place due to her recordings which occur nearby.. one a half million. That is a large chuck of change. of them email me. Britney Sets Another Record On Saturday, January 15th 2000 Britney broke yet another record! She sold out the Daytona Beach (Florida) Ocean Center in 2 and a half hours. The Ocean Center was built in 1985 and has never had a show sell out within a day! People came from all over central Florida to line up and get tickets, the line consited about 5,000 people, the last 30 were told they were not going to be able to get tickets because it had sold out. There will be over 8,000 people at the concert and it will go on at 7:30 on April 2nd. Congrats to Britney! Britney climbs charts over in Germany Britney's album "...Baby One More Time" is back in the German Top 10, at number eight to be exact. Britney Spears may work with Jody Jenkins Don't be surprised if reigning teen pop queen Britney Spears sounds a little more like Janet Jackson on her next album. According to EW Daily, Spears was seen chatting it up with R&B producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins about possibly working together at the announcement of the Grammy nominations on Tuesday. Jerkins told EW that if had his way, he would take Spears away from her bubblegum pop image and give her a more sexier, grown-up, Janet Jackson inspired sound. Jerkins is responsible for such hits as "The Boy Is Mine," among many others. DVD Version of "Time Out With Britney Spears" The DVD version of "Time Out With Britney Spears" is nearly the same as the VHS version, save some minor differences. There is a trivia game, that if you win, allows you to watch Britney's mom talk for about a minute, and a cool photo album and a biography. Moreover, the disc feature Britney's first 3 music videos in amazing quality. Britney on Good Morning American Britney's appeared today on Good Morning America. Britney did a really good job performing! First she sang "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" and her voice sounded exactly like the record, which proves she's not just a studio act. After that, Brit sang her first smash "Baby One More Time". Following the commercial break they asked her questions like when she got started and if she hangs out with her friends. One little boy, who was probably 5 years old, asked Britney if she would perform at his school. She said that she would if time allowed. That was about it. All together it was one of Brit's better TV appearances. By the way, she wore a dress and changed to black pants and a black tube top to perform "Baby One More Time". Britney to perform at American Music Awards The 27th annual American Music Awards has announced the talent lineup for the January 17th show. Scheduled artists include Brooks & Dunn, Creed, Dr. Dre, Eurythmics, Enrique Iglesias, Lenny Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez, 'N Sync, Savage Garden and Britney Spears. The awards show will be broadcast live from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on ABC. Britney on Total Request Live Britney was on Total Request Live yesterday talking to John Norris about her Grammy nominations. Brit said it was great just to be nominated, that it is going to be fun, and that she said she doesn't know if she will perform. Britney on Kenan and Kel Britney appeared Kenan & Kel yesterday, it was shown on Nickelodeon (in the U.K). It was a double episode, Britney appeared in the second installment, where Kel pretended to be her hairdresser when she appeared on 'The Julie Brown Show' in Hollywood. Kel sprayed her hair green. I will try and see if I can get some pics from it on my website. Win a Trip to Camp Britney Teen People has reported that it will send one winner to Camp Britney in upstate New York. At this camp, the winner will work with top choreographers and acting coaches. They will teach and train the person, depending on sex, all of Britney's dances. The contest winner will also get to make a cameo apperance in Brit's next video. They will be hanging with Britney for the two weeks at camp and will have the chance to meet with top Jive managers to discuss a career in singing. More info on Britney's new album Britney's new album which is due to come out on May 16 has 13 tracks, including 4 ballads. There is a duet with JC from N'Sync. The first is called "Asking for Trouble". The second is called "Walk on By", and the third is called "What you see is what you get." Here is some more info on the duet with JC, "The song is called 'It's The End of Us' and it's written by JC and this was already confirmed by Britney when she was in Australia and JC also called in to confirm it." Since the album is not done yet, these tracks may change and remain only possibilities to what we all anticipate. Britney's New Album It has now been confirmed that Britney's new album will be called "Sunflower" and that it will be released out in March/April. Teen People Magazine Britney has recently appeared on the cover of the magazine "Teen People". The suprise hush-hush romance." The story says that William was a fan of Brit and that she was going to meet him next time she was over seas. Billboard Charts Billboard Charts has complied their end of 1999 stats and Britney holds the #2 album of the year and the #5 single of the year for "...Baby One More Time." "From the Bottom of My Broken heart" The video for "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" premiered today on MTV and Much Music and it was a very nice, laid-back video. The premise was that Britney was heart-broken by her boyfriend who decided to break up with her one day. At the same time, Britney is moving away to college and leaving behind her family and also her ex-boyfriend. At the end, when Britney leaves for college alone on the bus, the boyfriend just misses her and regrets the break-up. Basically the theme was changes and moving on in life but the difficulty of not holding on to the past. There was no big dance production numbers - just a normal, sincere Britney singing about lost love and reminiscing about the past. It was a sad video but beautifully shot and of course Britney looked great. Britney wants to show more clevage Britney complains in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, "I should be able to flaunt my femininity. Sometimes I want to show off more cleavage but the record company don't like me drawing attention to my breasts because of the rumours, which is bad." Britney looking to buy House in the UK
This week, Britney jumped from number 9 up to
number four on the Dutch Top 40. Soon after, the host asked "Who do you think will be
number one next week?" more or less referring to Britney. So basically, expect to see
Brit's "Born to Make You Happy" topping the charts next week over in Dutchville.
Britney
recently wrapped up a recording session in Sweden that netted six new songs, and after
doing a round of interviews reacting to her two Grammy nominations — Best New Artist
and Best Pop Performance by a Female — she's slated to head to Orlando for more
recording. The as-yet-untitled album is expected to be released during the fourth quarter.
Britney will be
performing two songs at this year's Grammys. I have heard nothing of this, and have no
idea of any of the scheduled performers, so I'll just have to keep my eyes open for more
information to follow. If this is, in fact, true though, that would be pretty rad. We'll
all await a formal announcement.
