Baked Cinnamon Cream Cheese French Toast



1 loaf (12 slices) Pepperidge Farm raisin or cinnamon bread
1 block cream cheese, softened
Cinnamon-sugar mixture
8 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
Confectioners' sugar



Grease or spray a 13x9 inch pan or casserole dish. Arrange a layer of 6 bread slices on the bottom of the dish. Spread each slice with a generous layer of cream cheese, then sprinkle liberally with cinnamon-sugar mixture.

In a large bowl, mix the eggs, milk, and syrup, then pour approx. 1/2 of the mixture over the bread.

Top with the same arrangement of remaining bread slices - again covering with cream cheese and cinnamon-sugar mixture. Pour remaining egg mixture over the top.

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Bake uncovered in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until golden and puffy. To serve, cut through bread slices diagonally, creating triangles. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and serve while puffed.
