Aunt Verdina's Hash Brown-Ham Casserole



16 ounce container sour cream
10 3/4 ounce can condensed cream of chicken soup
32 ounce package frozen, loose-pack hash brown potatoes
2 cups cubed cooked ham
8 ounces (approx. 2 cups) cubed American cheese
1/4 cup chopped onion (green onions may be used)
2 cups crushed cornflakes (4 cups before crushing)
1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese



In a large bowl, combine sour cream and condensed cream of chicken soup. Stir in frozen potatoes, ham, cubed American cheese and onion.

Transfer mixture to a 13x9x2 inch baking dish, spreading evenly. Combine crushed cornflakes, and butter. Sprinkle over potato mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake 15 minutes more or till bubbly around the edges and heated through.

Serves 8 - 10
