Hail
Drummers! Ok, so why do I think I have any reason to tell you how to play
drums? How about eighteen years of experience? I think I might have something
to offer. I'm not Lars Ulrich or Buddy Rich, but I'll give you some good
solid playing tips - and a few tricks to keep that kit looking good and
functioning better. Maybe you know some; maybe I'm aware of some you're
not! Who knows?
This page is geared toward intermediate, however, beginners and advanced
musicians would also benefit from checking out the information here.
The number one tip I will give you now: The Basics! Yes,
paradiddles, flamadiddles, flamaques, etc.
I know, we all hate them, but the basic rudiments
are almost like knowing the letters of the alphabet! No doubt. You're probably
thinking "No duh," but you might be surprised just how many players discount
the rudiments when behind the set. I've been there.
Anywho, the remaining tricks are on the links below, where I give you tips
on refinishing your kit, dampening ringing, sticks to use, and how to apply
the basic rudiments to the set! Also, you can check out some other sites
on drumming and music in general. Please E-mail me if you know any little
fun things I've missed. Enjoy!! :0)
