But there's more...

This is Kismet

The comic book is an artistic medium that has gotten plenty of flack in it's history, mostly undeserved. Thanks to the efforts of people like Neil Gaiman, Ben Edlund, and countless others, it seems that the comic book is finally getting the respect that it well deserves.

Kismet is a parody on the "traditional" modern comic-book hero. He was created as a way of expressing my belief in the power of the human spirit. He is the ever optomistic, happy-go-lucky hero/adventurer.

As a disclaimer, I must point out that Kismet is not a satire in the sense that Ben Edlund created his character. Kismet is a fully competent character with his share of "reality" as opposed to the "hero identitry" that he clings to. He posseses powers greater than normal men, but he still is very much human.

Kiz, as he is so affectionately called, was developed somewhere between the recesses of my brain and the ever-wonderfull world of Role-Playing Games. He's gone through a myriad of changes, from darkly dramaticly serious to completely ludicrus slapstick comedy. Right now he lies somewhere in between.

Anyway, I felt that this was a necessary installment on the page, considering Kismet is only famous among my peers. The rest of the world has never even heard of this guy. Ah, well.

In a final note, I would like to restate that Kismet was developed through the use of comic-book hero role playing games. Just by Emailing me you too can have role playing stats for Kismet in any RPG format. (Within reason, that is. But you never know. I'm pretty resourcefull.) I'm that nice. So go ahead. Don't be shy. Email Kiz and pass the news of this page along. I need the notoriety.
