It has just occured to me that old webpages don't die, they just sit there quietly.. patiently waiting for you to come back to them. Day after day, month after month, and in this webpage's case.... year after year. Pictures never change, quotes stay the same, and memories are kept safe. Like a time capsule. They wait for you to come back and to be reminded of what things were like when these pages and poems and pictures were put together.

Then one day you decide "Yes. Today I am going to do something productive! I am going to work on my stories!!" and as you log in to tripod, your mind racing with ideas and stories, and your fingers itching to hit the keys and put your thoughts into words for others to see, you realize the gods of Tripod have formed an alliance against you.. and with their powers they have forbidden enterance into their computer-based web world. Frusterated, you continue to work, trying every door, every window, and every keyhole to try to get in, but all enterances are blocked, and your spirits are dampened. "Great, now what am I going to do all day while I am at work?" you ask yourself as you throw your hands up in the air and curse Tripod.

This is what happened to me today, and then from out of nowhere a single word was whispered into my ear by some unseen entity... The spirit of abandoned webpages perhaps.. whispered a single word into my ear. What was that single word? "CORN"

With that single word, a flood of memories broke the dams of my mind.. and after being held back for so long, the memories brought a smile to my face and I tried pulling up my webpage that I had with my friend our Sophmore year of high school... 6 years ago. At first attempt, it seemed the page was gone, lost forever along with the conspiracy theory and all of my poems... but then I remembered... it's CaSe SeNsItIvE.

The website appeared with all it's glory, and the words I had written while in an empty computer lab at McMindes Hall in Hays Kansas appeared. Suddenly I remembered sitting in that computer lab for hours. The cold tiled floor, the old, yet suprisingly good computers. I remembered the distinct smell of the room, and how you could smell what was being served in the cafeteria from there. I remember the sounds of the keys as I typed on the ancient keyboards, and the feel of my cotton blue pajama pants with the goldfish on them that i wore all the time. I also remembered watching the snow fall through the window in the winter..

As I looked through the pages of the website, I decided that it was once again time to update my time capsule. And maybe, just maybe I will do it again before two years from now...

No, old webpages never die. They sit lonesome, waiting, and hoping. Hoping that someday, they will be remembered and updated. That they will be given a chance to tell a story, and have a purpose. Today this site will get it's wish.
(Insert women drying their eyes and men applauding for this speech here)

This concludes the sappy part of this webpage.. and just because no one ever comes to this site, doesn't mean it shouldn't be updated. So I will use my time today while I am work to do some reconstruction.. and anyone who does actually come.. next time you are here, feel free to drop me a line and keep me updating!

It has also reminded me I need to brush up on HTML!! Yikes!
