First a quote from Brandon Lee
"All I can tell you is that you cannot make choices in your own career,
either career choices or choices when you're actually working as an actor,
based on trying to downplay or live up to a comparison with somebody else.
You just can't do that. You have to do your own work based on your
own gut, your own instincts, and your own life."

- Brandon Lee

Here is the Biography on Brandon Lee.
Born in Oakland, California on February 1, 1965 to legendary film icon Bruce
Lee and wife Linda.

As soon as he learned how to walk, his father started training him in the martial
arts. Bruce Lee originated a style called Jeet Kune do. He trained Brandon in this
style while he was alive.
After his father's death at the early age of 32, Brandon, his mother, and sister
moved to Los Angeles. His mother, Linda, wanted to take her two children out of
the limelight, which gave them a chance at a normal childhood.

Since the beginning, Brandon was drawn towards performing. He always wanted
to be an actor and pursued that from a very young age. It's all he wanted to do.
He wanted to be known for his acting ability instead of who his father was. He
only hoped to be able to invest as much passion into acting as his father did in
martial art.

After taking high school drama classes, Brandon Left to attend acting classes with
Lee Strasberg, later going on to study acting at Emerson College in Boston,
Massachusetts. He later joined Eric Morris' American New Theater company in
New York City and followed the company's relocation to Los Angeles and
appeared in their production of Full Fed Beast for playwright John Lee Hancock.

Brandon later returned to training at the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts in
Marina Del Rey, California, which was run by two of Bruce Lee's former
students and instructors, Danny Inosanto and Ted Wong.

His first professional acting job came at the age of 20 when he appeared in the
CBS television film Kung Fu: The Movie in 1986. He played the long lost and
revengeful son of David Carradine's character Caine.

Brandon also made several appearances on Hong Kong television with his father.

He later landed a role of the evil son of Yakuza godfather on an episode of
O'Hara with Pat Morita.
It bothered Brandon that Asian actors were not consistently getting starring roles
in American Films and television. Brandon had to travel to Hong Kong in order to
make his feature film debut, starring in Legacy of Rage (1988).

Brandon then landed a role in the 1990 movie Laser Mission which was filmed in
Namibia with featured star Ernest Borgnine.
Brandon finally made his American feature film debut in Showdown in Little
Tokyo for Warner Brothers in which he played a policeman.

Brandon then landed a major starring role, that of Jake Lo in Rapid Fire for 20th
Century Fox, written with Brandon Lee in mind. Brandon also helped work on
Rapid Fire's fight choreography to bring some Hong Kong Movie Flair to the film.

20th Century Fox signed Brandon to do two more films for the studio.
1993 production of The Crow starts.
On March 31st, he was injured while filming. A real bullet was accidently placed in the prop gun & was fired. It went in his right Abdomen and lodged itself in his spine. He was bleedingn profusely. Brandon died hours later at the Wilmington Hospital.

Cast Quotes
Jon Polito (Gideon) - "Brandon was sort of a gentle soul, but when I was acting with him, I could really feel the tremendous amount of power he threw across a room."

Sofia Shinas (Shelly Webster) - "The truly amazing thing about the film is how very poignant it was - what Brandon did with the role, especially because he is in makeup. We are always aware of Eric's pain and his motivation."

Ernie Hudson (Officer Albrecht) - "I was very touched by the fact that Brandon's spirit, his warmth, and his heart came through. And he essentially made it a love story. When I first got involved, all I saw was the dark side. All I saw was the violence. But when I saw the movie, what came
through for me was the love story. At the end, I know that they hadn't shot most of the love scenes and the scenes dealing with his personal relationship with the girl. It still came through because of his performance and what he brought to the role; it came through loud and clear."

Rochelle Davis (Sarah) - "He's great to work with. He's really easy to work with; very lovable, very sweet."

Here is a piece that was written of Brandon.

BRANDON LEE
The Crow was completed to honor Brandon Lee.
There was a time when it seemed the film would never see the light of day. All of us who had worked with him were devastated by the loss of Brandon; finishing the film was the farthest thing from anyone's mind. But people started to rally behind completing it. First several members of the cast, then Brandon's friends and family, expressed their feeling that Brandon would want his work to be seen. I think they were right. Brandon had put his heart into his character - he really cared about this film and wanted it to be something special. I think that shows There will always be a lot of justifiable anger over
Brandon's death, but there is one glimmer of optimism here - the film itself - Brandon's film. In years to come people will still be dazzled by his brilliance as we were.
- Alex Proyas April 11, 1994

This is Brandon's Favorite passage.
Paul Bowle's Sheltering Sky

"Because we do not know when we will die we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well and yet everything happens only a certain number of times and a very small number really. How many times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, an afternoon that is so deeply a part of your life that you can't even conceive of your life without it. Perhaps four or five times more? Perhaps not even that. How many times will you watch the full moon rise, perhaps twenty, and yet it all seems so limitless."

More Talk on Brandon Lee

Brandon talked about how his character, Eric Draven, could make you think more deeply about the things you took for granted in your life . . . nothing is trivial. Brandon quoted his favorite passage from Paul Bowle's Sheltering Sky (featured in an interview at the end of The Crow video). This same quote is also on Brandon's grave site. This still brings tears to my eyes, because it represents just how sincere
Brandon really was. I only wish that I would have had the pleasure of meeting such a person. There will never be another Brandon Lee, But there are ( at least I hope) people out there who are like him.
After Brandon's death, the production was immediately shut down while the filmmakers figured out what was going to happen with the film. Except for a few flashbacks scenes, the entire story of THE CROW had been filmed by the time of the tragic accident. The question of whether or not the film could be finished was never a technical one, but psychological. Director Alex Proyas at first felt that they couldn't go on. There was nothing left...It was over. With Brandon gone, there was no reason to go ahead with the movie. The crew and members of the cast talked about how they had to go on.
Brandon was so proud of the work he did to make the character, Eric Draven come alive. Everyone felt the urge to finish the movie. They felt they had to preserve Brandon's legacy, the incredible performance he'd given. Brandon felt the role of Eric Draven as his breakthrough role, one that would lift him beyond the martial arts films. He wanted to be able to do other films and THE CROW had the possibility as the perfect vehicle for his aspirations due to the fact of it being in the world of action films and romance...He finally did something outside of the martial arts films. He made it to the big budget
studio films. Brandon was an actor who wanted to be involved in every aspect of the filming process. He was an actor that wanted to put more into his work then what was expected. He contributed a great deal to the finished film, far beyond what is expected from an actor in any normal situation. Without a doubt it was Brandon who defined his character. He made the character what it was... no one could of topped that. Brandon's talents were many and varied. He was involved in many aspects of the film, even scenes that didn't involve his character. He put his all into this movie...For he knew...this was his movie. THE CROW was going to make him known for the great actor that he was. He put his heart and soul into his character and movie. I think we can all see and feel that. I feel that they could not of found anyone better to play the character of Eric Draven. Brandon was meant for the part and I think that he will be remembered for the great work he did to bring this movie to life. Brandon's death,
