Breezy Bu-Linn is a solid bay Appaloosa mare with only a star. She was foaled on February 12, 1983 in Ludington, Michigan. She now calls Rock N' Horse Stables in Holland, Michigan home. Even though Breezy was pretty much only used for halter before I got her, I am now training her for dressage. Things are going great - she has a wonderful personality. She always gives me 150% no matter what we're doing. That's not to say that she sometimes has her own ideas of what we should be doing. An example of this occured a couple of weeks ago. Summer was just beginning, so Breezy and I had not yet become accustomed to the heat, so we were just walking on a trail ride. Both of us were sweaty and hot, and at the end of the trail there was a tiny little pond that was only about 2 feet deep. Breezy and I had walked through the corner of this pond a lot because our trail went right into it and came out on the other side of a little bit of water. Well, as Breezy and I were just crossing over the corner of this pond, without warning, Breezy laid down in the water! She didn't lay on me, just right straight down with her legs folded up beneath her. So there I sat, dumbstruck, on top of her in this pond. When she began to get up, it felt like she might roll to me, so I jumped off to land right on my butt in this pond, breeches, boots and all. The splash I made surprised Breezy, so she stopped getting up and just sat there looking at me as if to say, "There. Now doesn't that feel good?" We then both got up, and since my saddle had not yet gotten wet, I didn't want to sit in it. So Breezy and I walked home, side by side...my boots squishing all the way.
