~*Kendle*~
"I'm sorry that the evening had to be ruined by my two idiot brothers, but they are just like that sometimes..." Ike said as he walked me up to my door. He had dropped Zac and Tay off at their house first so they couldn't ruin it anymore.
"That's okay. I had a good time anyway. i'm glad you invited me. Just one question though: Was any of that true?"
He paused for a moment. "No. Well, except for the buzz cut thing, but I was only 7, and I barely remember it. I don't know how they do. I mean Zac was only 3. Tay was 5."
"I see. Well, I probably ought to get inside. I think Mom and Dad are gone, and I'm supposed to help Jessi babysit my youngest sister, Megan while they're gone."
"I'll call you sometime. If that's okay."
"Well, I wouldn't have given you my number if it wasn't. Bye!"
"Bye," he said, then he leaned down and kissed me on the cheek. I walked ito the house and as soon as I shut the door, Jessi came running down the stairs.
"Hi Jessi..." I said in a less than enthusiastic tone.
"So?"
"So what? I had a good time with some kool people. Sorry, that's all you get."
She stomped up the stairs and pouted off to her room. Megan came bounding in from the living room.
"Hey Kendle! Jessi said you went out with famous rock stars!!!"
"Megan, listen to me. Just because they are famous, doesn't mean they aren't normal people, just like us. Don't ever forget that."
"I won't!" then she ran back into the living room and resumed playing with her barbie dolls.
I went up the stairs and walked into Jessi's room without knocking. She was reading a magazine.
"Thanks for knocking."
"You're welcome. What ARE you doing? This is a Kodak moment!"
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm reading a magazine you idiot!"
"You mean you're actually reading it, instead of plastering the pages of it to your wall? Are you feeling okay? I think you're still sick. You really shouldn't have gone out tonight..."
"So, how was dinner?" Kendle asked, ignoring my last comment.
"It was fun. I'll be going now..."
"Wait! Aren't you even going to tell me what they're like?"
"I didn't think thet you really cared. It seems like all you care about is their looks and fame..." With that, I walked out the door and back to my bedroom.
Two days later....
"Kendle! Phone!" Jessi yelled up the stairs. I was in my room listening to the radio and reading a book, so I barely heard her. I walked across the room, turned down the music, and picked up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Uh...hi Kendle. This is Isaac. What's up?"
"Oh, hey Ike! Nothing much. Just reading a book. What about you?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to go somewhere this weekend sometime..."
"Sure, where do you want to go?"
After I said that, Ike started talking again, and I could hear someone breathing, but I knew it wasn't Ike, because he was talking...
"Jessi! Get off the phone!" I yelled out my bedroom door, right as Jessi walked in the door. I could still hear the breathing... It was probably Zac or Tay...
"Geez Kendle! Yell in my face, why don't you... I'm not on the phone, as you can probably see right now."
"Whoever is on the extention, get off now!!!" Ike yelled at someone in his house. "Hold on a second. I'm gonna go see who is listening..."
"Okay."
I waited about 5 minutes, then Ike came back. "Are you sure your little sister isn't on the extention, because I'm the only person in my house, and I can still hear that breathing..."
"I'm sure. She's standing right next to me... No phone in her hand..."
"That's weird. Maybe the phone line got messed up somewhere. Oh well."
About then, someone started whispering something. neither one of us could figure out what the heck they were saying...
