Where are the...

While walking around, there are sure to be a few things to keep on the lookout for. Keep our eyes open for these important things:

Bathrooms: Some people complain about the lack of bathrooms in New York, but I think they just don't know where to look! Believe it or not, you may not have such a problem finding them! A few hints: There is a visitors center in Times Square at 47th and BroadwayThe lines here are short and you can take a few brochures while you're there. Also, on 42nd Street, the public Library and Grand Central are great attractions, and they have free bathrooms, too! In the Village, you might just have to pop into a Starbucks.

Food: I'm actually going to skip this one because there are tons of great dining sites out there. However, I will mention a few that I would frequent: In the Upper West Side, on 71st and Columbus, there's a little place called Big Nick's Pizza and Burger Joint. They've got great meals for a great price. You can stop here while walking through the park or after a visit to Lincoln Center.
In Little Italy, there's a small restaraunt with great prices. It looks small from the outside, but inside it's got great food, ambiance, and cute waiters. It's called El Cacciatore.

Dessert!! This is far more my specialty. Right on West Fourth Street, there are a line of Bakeries. Rocco's Bakery is an awesome bakery- make sure you give yourself enough time to choose what you want! Also, there's another great bakery with the best hot chocolate ever! It's called Jacque Torres at 66 Water Street, and his hot chocolate is like drinking pure chocolate. Then you could always check out Max Brenner in Washington Square. They have good food, but their volcano chocolate cake is to die for. Some of my favorite truffle places are sprinkled all over lower Manhattan. Maribelle's Chocolates is a very small store, but is decorated adorably! There's a huge chandelier hanging in the back. The truffles are all artfully decorated with neat designs. Then, there's the Chocolate Bar, on 8th Ave in the Village. YOu can buy chocolate in all shapes and sizes. too! They sell funky tshirts and buttons, too.
