Chantal ran as fast as she could but the sound of the sirens kept getting closer and closer. She jumped over fences and slipped between bushes looking for a place to hide. She was lsoing breath fast. Not being allowed to leave her house she had become very out of shape. Chantal could now see the lights from the flashlights that the poice were shining into backyards as they searched for her. As Chantal was running between two houses she saw a tool shed on the other side of the street. She ran to the front of the house hoping for enough time to cross the street and make it tot he shed when she falt a strong hand on her shoulder. She was plled backwards intothe hard stomach of a man and was forced to turn around. Chantal looked up at her guardian, Donavon's, face. He was a strong man with dark menacing eyes, and neat gel-filled hair.
"I am getting very tired of this," Donavon said through gritted teeth. The police cars headlights were now on them as the vehicle slowed to a stop. The two policemen got out and walked over to them."Are you the girls guardian?" one of the policemen asked."Yes. I am. Thank you for helping me find her," Donavon said."Well I suggest you make sure she is kept at home," the second policeman said."Oh don't worry," Donavon said squeezing Chantal's shoulder, "I will."The policmen nodded, got back intot heir car, and drove away."Home. Now," Donavon said.Donavon began to steer her the way home. His grip on her shoulder was so tight that she was wincing from the pain. As soon as Donavon brought Chantal home he brought her up to her bedroom and started shouting."What the hell were you thinking? How many times will you have to get caught before you realize you're never getting away? So exactly how did you manage to get away this time?" Donavon yelled."I'll never tell you how I keep getting away," Chantal yelled right back at him, "I don't understand why you make me stay here.""You know perfectly well why I keep you here," Donavon yelled, "and if you try to escape again I'll chain you to the wall."Donavon left the room slamming the door behind him. She heard hum fumbling with the locks on her door and then move away downstairs. As soon as Donavon was out of earshout the room was filled with the sounds of a young woman crying.A few hours after Chantal had been brought back home she was slowly pacing around her room. It was a rather large room but it was very gloomy. The room was very dark. Chantal didn't have a lamp and Donavon made her keep her curtains closed all the time since he didn't want anyone knowing that she was there. She didn't really mind since she really didn't like looking at the bars that Donavon had put onto her window, but she would have liked to have some light.TO BE CONTINUED....
