22. NEW SCRIPTURE

22-A. SLAIN FOR THE WORD OF GOD (Bible Revision)

PREMISE

• At the Last Judgment, God will judge and punish those who have revised His written Word.
• During the Golden Age, the Antichrist will judge and behead those who remain faithful to God's written Word.

PROGRAM OF GOD

Old Testament Period: God preserved the Old Testament in the Hebrew language and arranged for its translation into the Greek language.

Church Age: God is preserving the New Testament/Covenant in the Greek language.

The Millennium (end): At the Last Judgment, God will judge those who have added to or removed words from His written Word.

PROGRAM OF SATANIC DUPLICATION

Pre-Flood Era: Satan questioned the content of God's word.

Old Testament Period: King Jehoiakim destroyed the word of the Lord received from the prophet Jeremiah. The Jews of Alexandria corrupted the Hebrew Old Testament.

Church Age:  The Jews of Alexandria corrupted the Greek New Testament. The apostate Church translates new versions from these Alexandrian manuscripts.

Tribulation: Christians will be slain for remaining faithful to the Greek Received Text.

• God arranged for the translation of the Hebrew Old Testament into the Greek language to prepare the Greek-speaking Gentiles for the coming of His Son.

"But, when the fulness of time drew near, that the Sun of righteousness, the Son of God should come into the world, whom God ordained to be a reconciliation through faith in his blood, not of the Jew only, but also of the Greek, yea, of all them that were scattered abroad; then lo, it pleased the Lord to stir up the spirit of a Greek Prince (Greek for descent and language) even of Ptolemy Philadelph King of Egypt, to procure the translating of the Book of God out of Hebrew into Greek. This is the translation of the Seventy Interpreters, commonly so called, which prepared the way for our Saviour among the Gentiles by written preaching, as Saint John Baptist did among the Jews by vocal." CHURCH AGE

• God is preserving the New Testament/Covenant in the Greek language.

As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever. - Is. 59:21

THE MILLENNIUM (end)

    PROGRAM OF SATAN

Bible Revision is replacing the Greek Received Text (as represented in the King James Bible) with the Gnostic Alexandrian Greek Revised Text (as represented by all bible versions since the KJV). See: Another Bible, Another Gospel*; The Legacy of Westcott & Hort*

Satan's next plan of attack concerning Scripture is (1) to further discredit the King James Version by attributing its translation to occultists, (2) to discredit the Byzantine Greek manuscripts that are its foundation by claiming that the original manuscripts were written in Syriac rather than Greek and (3) to create the misconception that the version which most accurately reflects the Textus Receptus was the Syriac Peshitto. Most "King James Version defenders" promote the corrupt Syriac Peshitto as based on the Textus Receptus, and heretical medieval sects such as the Celtic Church and the Albigenses/Cathari, as preserving the Textus Receptus.  Presently, there are heretical movements using the Syriac Peshitto along with other Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts for the translation of Semitic New Testaments in place of the Greek Text.         PRE-FLOOD ERA

• Satan questioned the content of God's word in his temptation of Eve.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? - Gen 3:1

        OLD TESTAMENT PERIOD

• King Jehoiakim destroyed the word of the Lord written by the prophet Jeremiah.

    And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD: Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD'S house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities. It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people. And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD'S house. And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem. Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD'S house, in the ears of all the people.

    Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words... Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him. And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth. - Jer. 36:5-10,16, 22-24

• Jehoiakim's name was removed from the genealogy of Jesus Christ, per Rev. 22:19.

And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias; And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon: - Matt. 1:11

• The Jews of Alexandria, Egypt corrupted the Hebrew Old Testament with their translation of the Greek Septuagint.

"Therefore the word of God being set forth in Greek, becometh hereby like a candle set upon a candlestick, which giveth light to all that are in the house, or like a proclamation sounded forth in the market place, which most men presently take knowledge of; and therefore that language was fittest to contain the Scriptures, both for the first Preachers of the Gospel to appeal unto for witness, and for the learners also of those times to make search and trial by. It is certain, that that Translation was not so sound and so perfect, but it needed in many places correction; and who had been so sufficient for this work as the Apostles or Apostolic men? Yet it seemed good to the holy Ghost and to them, to take that which they found, (the same being for the greatest part true and sufficient) rather than making a new, in that new world and green age of the Church, to expose themselves to many exceptions and cavillations, as though they made a Translations to serve their own turn, and therefore bearing a witness to themselves, their witness not to be regarded. This may be supposed to be some cause, why the Translation of the Seventy was allowed to pass for current. Notwithstanding, though it was commended generally, yet it did not fully content the learned, no not of the Jews." (1611 KJV Translators Preface)

        CHURCH AGE

• The Jews of Alexandria corrupted the Greek New Testament.

“The most influential center relating to the corruption of the Biblical text was the catechetical ‘School’ at Alexandria, Egypt… Alexandria was a city with a large Jewish population. It was also a center of Greek (Platonic) philosophy… The famous Jewish philosopher of Alexandria, Philo, (20 B.C.-42 A.D.), wedded the teachings of Plato (427-347 B.C.) to the Old Testament. Christians applied the methods of Philo the New Testament, giving the heresy of Gnosticism. Alexandria was a center of Gnosticism—Basilides (c.125 A.D.) and Valentinus (120-160 A.D.) were Alexandrian Gnostics.” – Robert Sargent, Landmarks of English Bible Manuscript Evidence - 199:122

• Modern textual critics seek to discredit the authority of the Received Text (basis of the King James Version) in the eyes of Christians by identifying it with known occultists, who were rejected by King James.

"...William T. Smedley writes. 'It will eventually be proved that the whole scheme of the Authorized Version of the Bible was Francis Bacon's." (Manly P. Hall) - 105:clxvi

"Dee's disciple, Robert Fludd, was the chief proponent of Rosicrucianism in England, and Fludd along with Sir Francis Bacon and others were commissioned by King James I,...to produce an English translation of the Holy Bible." "...for study you should use almost any modern translation rather than the KJV" (Gordon Fee) - 190:34

• The Alexandrian manuscripts are now used as the basis of all new versions with the misleading excuse that they were the 'oldest and best' manuscripts. 

"...[Sir Francis] Bacon had written of concealing works in mercury [to preserve texts]..." - 281:31

"The eighteenth-century philosophes regarded Gnosticism as a counter tradition and wielded it as a weapon in their outflanking tactics to overthrow the received tradition." - 197:533

"The Bible...having its origin in this same Ancient Wisdom or Gnosis... (is) sadly mutilated and garbled in our authorized version..." - 192:81

    "The Black Virgin of Boulogne-sur-Mer illustrates the special relationship linking Isis to Merovingian France. In AD 633, during the reign of Dagobert I, king of all France, who may have been attending Sunday Mass there all the time, a ship sailed into the harbour, without oars or sails, containing nothing but a statue, three feet high, of the Black Virgin and a copy of the Gospels in Syriac. These last would almost certainly have been the version known as 'The Gospel of the Mixed', based on the Diatessaron of the second-century Gnostic, Tatian...
    "Who is the invisible helmsman of the barque of Isis? The Grand Master of the Prieuré de Sion has exactly this title, Nautonnier." - 272:68

"There are, I fear still more serious differences between us on the subject of authority and especially the authority of the Bible . . . • Some so-called defenders of the Received Text promote misinformation by associating the TR with corrupted texts (Syriac Peshitta, Italic, Gaelic and Celtic bibles) and heretical medieval cults (Waldenses, Cathars, Albigenses, etc).

"...the Syrian version may have been written with direct access to the original autographs themselves (Peter Ruckman)." 191:116

"Saint Columba had brought the ORIGINAL CHRISTIAN MESSAGE (preserved by the Syrian bishop Nestorius) into Ireland and Scotland from the Middle East..." (HRH Prince Michael of Albany) - 92:29-30

"And as there were really only two Bibles - the official version of Rome, and the Received Text - we may safely conclude that the Gallic (or French) Bible, as well as the Celtic (or British), were translations based on the Received Text " (David Otis Fuller) - 187:203

• There is a movement to dissociate the original Scriptures from the Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament.

• In modern versions, the Septuagint has replaced the Hebrew Masoretic O.T.

"We are taking the New King James Version - the 'boilerplate' you might say - and changing it everywhere it is different than the Septuagint. The result will be indeed a Septuagint translation." [Orthodox Study Bible] - 577

 

"...Codices Sinaiticus and Vaticanus, both from the fourth century; and Codice Alexandrinus (a Byzantine text in the gospels), from the fifth century, all...have the Greek version as their Old Testament text... [T]o this day, the LXX is regarded as the inspired, authoritative version of the Old Testament in the Eastern Church..." - 578:154-56

 

"There are some readings of the LXX which agree with that of the Dead Sea Scrolls, but not that of the Masoretic text. ...the earliest manuscript of the Masoretic text is dated 895 A.D. while the earliest manuscript of the LXX is dated at 350 A.D.... The LXX is the official Old Testament version of The Holy Orthodox Greek Catholic Church." - 199:133-34

• The Greek originals of the New Testament are disputed by Hebrew Roots advocates.

"Jesus' primary tongue was Aramaic; his teachings come to us only in a GREEK TRANSLATION, To some this reality can be threatening." (Gordon Fee) - 190:114

"The earliest existing copies of the Gospels were written in Greek, but maintained 46 words of Aramaic, which some scholars feel point back to an ARAMAIC ORIGINAL before the Greek, [Rocco] Ericco president of the Noohra Foundation... said." - 185

"Several Semitic versions of the New Testament books have come down to us which may have some claim to being descendants of the ORIGINAL SEMITIC TEXT... These include...the Old Syriac Aramaic version of the four Gospels; The Peshitta Aramaic New Testament and the Crawford Aramaic version of Revelation."         TRIBULATION / FIRST 3.5 YEARS

• The real purpose behind the proliferation of modern versions, with diverse readings, is to eventually discredit the New Testament as non-authoritative.

   

  "Modern Christianity no longer gives to the world a sufficiently definite, clear, simple, exact and unequivocal, or authoritative expression of the Great 'World of Instruction'." - 605:149

22-B. TAKING AWAY FROM / ADDING TO SCRIPTURE (Bible Canon/Ancient Wisdom Texts)

PREMISE

• During the Church Age, the Canon of Scripture gave the light of Christ to a spiritually darkened world.
• During the Great Tribulation, Ancient Wisdom Texts will replace the traditional canon of Scripture and the world will revert to its former darkness.

PROGRAM OF GOD

Old Testament: King Solomon wrote the Wisdom books of the Old Testament.

Church Age: The Canon of Scripture was established to establish the true faith of Jesus Christ as opposed to heresy.

Tribulation Period: God will judge all those who have have added to the Scriptures.

Millennium (end): God will remove from the Book of Life the names of those who have taken away from Scripture.

PROGRAM OF SATANIC DUPLICATION

Old Testament Period: Apostate Jews created the Dead Sea Scrolls and Apocrypha.

Church Age: The apostate Church created gnostic scripture texts; the modern apostate church promotes these gnostic texts.

Tribulation: The apostate Church will change the Bible canon to include gnostic texts.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: - II Tim. 3:15-16  

• The Canon of Scripture was defined to establish the true faith of Jesus Christ as opposed to heresy.

"The New Testament Books were recorded under inspiration between 50 A.D. (probably Matthew) and 95 A.D. (The Revelation).

"The great mark of canonicity was apostolicity. The apostles were eye witnesses. Luke 1:2; I John 1:3; II Peter 1:15; also Acts 2:42...

"Thus we may conclude that, like the Old Testament, the Books of the New Testament were 'canonized' as they were written and circulated.

"The need for an 'official' collection of Books came about for the following reasons:

1. The rise of heresy (Judaism and Gnosticism) required the use of defined Scriptures to contend for the faith.

2. The formation of truncated canons by Judaistic sects (pro-Petrine, anti-Pauline), and the canon of the gnostic Marcion of Sinope (c.140 A.D.) who countered Judaism by compiling a New Testament consisting of parts of Luke and 10 Pauline epistles.

3. Persecution. The emperor Diocletian issued an edict in 303 A.D. ordering the burning of the Christian Scriptures. What were these Scriptures.

4. The existence of non-canonical writings, both noble (Luke 1:1) and ignoble (II Thessalonians 2:2 cf. 3:17)...

"The ecumenical Council of Nicea (325 A.D.) refers to 'the canon.'

"The Synod of Laodicea (363 A.D.) forbade the reading of non-canonical Books, thus indicating that by this time the New Testament canon was finished.

"Apparently none of these early councils thought it necessary to list the Books which comprised the sacred canon, indicating they were well-known and universally accepted by churches and Christians.

"The first complete listing of the 27 New Testament Books was given by Athanasius in an Easter letter written in 367 A.D. (This does not mean the canon was not settled earlier--it is the earliest list known!) - 199:77-78

    TRIBULATION / GREAT TRIBULATION

• God will judge with Tribulation plagues all those who have added to the canon of Scripture.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: - Rev.22:18

MILLENNIUM (end)

• Those who remove words from the canon of Scripture will be removed from the Book of Life and cast into the Lake of Fire.

    PROGRAM OF SATAN

    The previously rejected Gnostic writings will first be added to the Biblical Canon of Scripture and then will be substituted for the Canon.  The Septuagint, an ancient Greek translation of the Old Testament which contained the Apocryphal books, is the basis for modern bible versions and also the Old Testament version of the Greek Orthodox Church. Eastern Orthodoxy, which will be the point of contact between apostate Christianity and Eastern religions, plans to publish an Orthodox Study Bible, based on the Septuagint. Release of this bible will coincide with the date the United Religions Organization assumes headship of the world's religions.

    The Dead Sea Scrolls are promoted by KJV-Only Defenders who claim they are a valuable discovery because the majority of the scrolls support the readings of the Hebrew Masoretic Text (although some support the Septuagint).  Not divulged are the Gnostic origins and orientation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, which were discovered in 1947 near Qumran and represent the Essene community's Gnostic alternative to the traditional canon of Scripture.

        OLD TESTAMENT PERIOD

• Apostate Jews wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls and included the Apocrypha in the Septuagint.

"The Dead Sea Scrolls were most likely written by the Essenes during the period from about 200 B.C. to 68 C.E./A.D. The Essenes are mentioned by Josephus and in a few other sources, but not in the New testament. The Essenes were a strict Torah observant, Messianic, apocalyptic, baptist, wilderness, new covenant Jewish sect. They were led by a priest they called the 'Teacher of Righteousness,' who was opposed and possibly killed by the establishment priesthood in Jerusalem...

"The Essenes were a Jewish sect representing an esoteric aspect of Judaism, or Jewish mysticism. The Jewish mystics studied the Kabbalah, which taught belief in reincarnation, astrology, channeling, prophecy, soul travel, psychic development, and angels, and which organized itself around the Tree of Life." - 890

Though it was widely regarded as scripture by the second century, it was later disputed by some church leaders. "The canon was determined for Roman Catholics at the Council of Trent in 1546 C.E.; it has never been determined for Protestants except by common consent and the action of some individual denominations." (Robert Funk) - 611:543

• King James Bible defenders are subtly legitimizing the Dead Sea Scrolls as manuscripts from the Jerusalem Library.

"Certainly many of the writings among the Dead Sea Scrolls reflect the views and teachings of the Essenes. The ruins found a mile away from Cave 1 at Qumran most certainly could have been from an Essenes community. Nevertheless, there are those who have come to different conclusions as to who wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls and about the community at Qumran. One such scholar is Dr. Norman Golb, author of Who Wrote The Dead Sea Scrolls? Dr. Golb is a recognized authority on Qumran who believes that the Scrolls are the remains of the Jewish library located in Jerusalem. He contends that various scrolls were hidden in the wilderness to protect the Jerusalem Library from the Romans when they destroyed the Second Temple and the city in 70 AD. He also maintains that the city of Qumran was not the dwelling place of the Essenes, but was a fortress against the Romans. Dr. Golb makes a comparison between the structures at Qumran and the military rock fortress at Masada. He notes that according to Josephus, the Essenes were not limited to a single settlement, but were found in every city of Palestine." (Thomas Holland) - 744

N.B.: Dr. Norman Golb is on the faculty of the Rockefeller-funded University of Chicago as the first holder of the Ludwig Rosenberger Professorship in Jewish History and Civilization. In the early nineties Dr. Golb took a leading role in the freeing of the Dead Sea Scrolls for study by the scholarly community, and in organizing an international congress on the scrolls under the auspices of the Rockefeller-funded New York Academy of Sciences and the Oriental Institute. In 1919, John D. Rockefeller, Jr. funded The Oriental Institute as a laboratory for the study of the rise and development of ancient civilization.

·        The new revelation will be combined with the occult ‘Ancient Wisdom’ (Kabalism/Gnosticism) to create the new bible for the New Age of the Spirit.

She says that as soon as he has consolidated world power, he will form and head a Spiritual Research Panel that will evaluate and combine all the world's religions and teachings, the occultic 'ancient wisdom', and Mystery Teachings. • During the Tribulation Period, God will conceal the truth of Scripture from the wicked, but reveal it to the wise.
• In the Golden Age, the Antichrist will teach the allegorical interpretation of Scripture to the unsaved, who are blinded to the truth of Scripture.

PROGRAM OF GOD

Old Testament Period: God revealed hidden knowledge to his prophets. God gave King Solomon great wisdom and understanding.

Church Age: Jesus Christ taught kingdom truths using parables; the Holy Spirit reveals the true meaning of Scripture to Christians.

Tribulation Period: God will conceal the truth of Scripture from the wicked but the wise will understand and teach others.

PROGRAM OF SATANIC DUPLICATION

Old Testament Period: The ancient pagan cultures veiled their secret doctrine in allegory.

Church Age: Because the unsaved cannot understand the true meaning of Scripture, they resort to allegorical interpretations that agree with occult doctrine. The Gnostic School of Alexandria, Egypt successfully promoted the allegorical method of interpretation in the early Church.

Tribulation: Occult groups will fulfill Bible prophecy allegorically, believing that all prophecy is written in parables.

Great Tribulation: The Antichrist will teach occultic, allegorical interpretation of Scripture, especially the Book of Revelation.

CHURCH AGE

• Jesus Christ veiled kingdom truths using parables; the Holy Spirit reveals the true meaning of Scripture to Christians.

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.  Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.  But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. - Matt. 13:10-16

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. - I Cor. 2:7-10

 

TRIBULATION / GREAT TRIBULATION

• God will conceal the truth of Scripture from the wicked but the wise will understand and teach others.

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. - Dan. 12:9,10

    Allegorical interpretation allows the Bible to be conformed to the teachings of Gnosticism. Occultists interpret the Scriptures allegorically rather than literally, even when the grammar, historical setting and context of a passage requires a literal interpretation.  This explains why many new Bible versions are not translated literally but are paraphrased. (See: Dynamic Equivalence 22.E)
    Allegorical interpretation should not be confused with the spiritual interpretation of types and figures whose meanings are found elsewhere in Scripture, but refers to imposing ideas upon the text which are found outside of Scripture and contrary to the whole of Scripture.
    Although the Gnostics' allegorical interpretation is now concealed from the profane, eventually these hidden interpretations and related false doctrines will be made public and replace the literal interpretation of Scripture. (See: Secret Doctrine 23.A)

     OLD TESTAMENT PERIOD

• The ancient pagan cultures veiled their secret doctrine in allegory.

"From the Egyptian sages the Greek poets and philosophers learnt the best of their wisdom; but, as Francis Bacon pointed out, the knowledges were veiled in allegorical fable, first by the Egyptians and then even more by the Greeks and other nations. This was a method which worked, and still works today..." - 889:16

     CHURCH AGE

• Clement and Origen of Alexandria, Egypt first propagated the allegorizing of Scripture to promote false doctrine in the early Church.

"Gnosticism is like a chameleon, it changes its colors to blend into its environment. An allegorical interpretation of scripture will allow gnosticism to thrive within Christianity. A literal interpretation of scripture makes the ground infertile for gnosticism. In Robert P. Lightner's book The Last Days Handbook, he states, 'not until the third century A.D. and the Alexandrian school of theology was there any serious opposition to the literal method. Teachers in this school - Clement of Alexandria and Origen - used a method of interpretation that made all scripture an allegory.' Origen's use of an allegorical interpretation allowed him to come to the conclusions and beliefs he held. Origen believed in the preexistence of souls and that 'not even Satan was so depraved and has so lost rationality and freedom as to be beyond redemption.' The 1968 Encyclopedia Britannica also states, 'The chief accusations against Origen's teaching are the following: making the Son inferior to the Father and so being precursor of Arianism; spiritualizing away the resurrection of the body; denying hell, a morally enervating universalism; speculating about preexistent souls and world cycles; dissolving redemptive history into timeless myth by using allegorical interpretation, thus turning Christianity into a kind of Gnosticism.' Origen held some strange and occultic beliefs. Dangerous doctrines permeate the church today. It is terrifying, when Christians passively accept teachings without searching the scriptures for the truth." - 824

• The hidden agenda behind the use of allegorical interpretation is the transformation of traditional religion into occultism.

"...mystics are men who by their own inner experience and their speculation concerning this experience discover new layers of meaning in their traditional religion. If their new revelations do not cause them to break away from the old traditions, they generally determine a way to cause the needed change for their interpretations to become dispensed within the tradition...

"It is generally known that allegorical interpretations arise spontaneously whenever a conflict between new ideas and those expressed in a sacred book necessitates some form of compromise. What is true of allegorical interpretation is still more applicable to the specifically mystical interpretation of such texts... Vast numbers of books have been written by Jewish mystics attempting to find their own ideas in, or read them into, the Biblical texts. A large part of the enormous Kabbalistic literature consists of commentaries of Books of the Bible, especially the Pentateuch, the Five Scrolls, the Psalms, the Song of Songs, the Book of Ruth, and Ecclesiastes. Many productive minds among the Kabbalists found this a congenial way of expressing their own ideas, while seeming to make them flow from the Bible. It is not always easy, in a given case, to determine whether the exegesis was a deliberate device, calculated to bridge the gap between the old and the new vision by reading completely new ideas into the text..." - 854:32-33

• The occult views the entire Bible as a parable that is to be interpreted allegorically, i.e. in agreement with gnostic Secret Doctrine/Ageless Wisdom.

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. - 2 Peter 3:16

“...both the Old and the New Testament Scriptures contain, hidden beneath the mere narrative, an esoteric meaning, a 'Secret Doctrine', a 'Gnosis'.” - 192:83

“Part of the symbols [of Freemasonry] are displayed there to the initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them, but it is intended that he shall imagine that he shall understand them. Their true explication is reserved for the Adepts, the princes of Masonry.” (Albert Pike) - 155:819

“There always has been and there always must be an exoteric doctrine for the masses, and esoteric teaching for those who - as Plotinus says - 'are fortunately able to perceive it. But in fact these 'mysteries' cannot be stated in any language but that of allegory and symbolism...and in a physical language which can only be symbolical, never literal." - 192:26

“…What is known traditionally and historically as ‘Christianity’ consists of manmade dogmas based on a literal interpretation of those Scriptures, and not on their allegorical, mystical and gnostic nature.” – 192:23

“...these 'Mysteries' are not recorded as having been given to the disciples in any of the Canonical Gospels. Indeed Jesus is reported to have said to his Disciples: 'I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. These things have I spoke unto you in proverbs (or parables): the hour cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but shall tell you plainly of the Father.' (John xvi.12&25)" - 192:25

“Peter Roche de Coppens...suggests that if Christians were to discover the hidden messages in the Bible, they would realize that Christianity and this ageless wisdom are perfectly compatible." - 200:124

“Rudolf Bultmann…reinterpreted the New Testament in terms of an interaction with Gnosticism…” – 183:26

        TRIBULATION / FIRST 3.5 YEARS

• The secret societies will fulfill Bible prophecy allegorically because they are deceived by the occult elite/hierarchy (Illuminati).

“The fulfillment of the prophecies by us [Freemasons] will enable Psalms, Zechariah, Daniel, as well as other parts of the Sacred Volume, to be read...not as a literal fulfillment to be on this earth, but as...Ancient Egyptian Wisdom, and much of it has no meaning literally without the Ritual as guide...” - 9:435

• The occult societies will counterfeit the literal fulfillment of Bible prophecy to deceive the masses whom they believe incapable of understanding the esoteric interpretation. (Matt. 24:24)

“About the time of the end, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the Prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamor and opposition." (Sir Isaac Newton, 1642-1727) - 431

"The doctrine of differing degrees of knowledge may be best illustrated by Origen's treatment of the primitive eschatology. The hope of the second coming of Christ is taken in a literal and material sense by simple believers. Origen does not attack their belief; it is better that they should believe the right thing in the wrong way than not believe it at all, and it is the best of which they are capable. But the Christian preacher ahs a responsibility  to educated minds who, so Origen observes, are often distressed by this article of the creed. The spiritual, symbolic meaning of the doctrine of the second coming may be either the universal expansion of the Church throughout the world, bringing all men to obedience of Christ, or the inward coming of Christ to the soul, when he comes not in humiliation but in glory, uniting the believer to himself in a union so intense that the believer leaves behind the limitations of this mortal state, and is raised to be one spirit with the Lord." - 811:77-8

        GREAT TRIBULATION / GOLDEN AGE

• When the Antichrist and False Prophet rise to power, they will make public the Gnostic interpretations of the Bible.

And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and UNDERSTANDING DARK SENTENCES, shall stand up. - Dan.8:23

“For in every particular of the Word there is an internal sense which treats of things spiritual and heavenly, not of things natural and worldly, such as are treated of in the sense of the letter. And this is true not only of the meaning of groups of words; it is true of each particular word. For the Word is written solely by correspondences, to the end that there may be an internal sense in every least particular of it. What that sense is can be seen from all that has been said and shown about it in the Arcana Coelestia*...

“It is according to that sense that what the Lord says in the passage quoted above respecting His coming in the clouds of heaven [Mt. 24:29-31] is to be understood. The 'sun' there that is to be darkened signifies the Lord in respect to love; the 'moon' the Lord in respect to faith; 'stars' knowledges of good and truth, or of love and faith; 'the sign of the Son of man in heaven' the manifestation of Divine truth; 'the tribes of the earth' that shall mourn, all things relating to truth and good or to faith and love; 'the coming of the Lord in the clouds of heaven with power and glory' His presence in the Word, and revelation, 'clouds' signifying the sense of the letter of the Word, and 'glory' the internal sense of the Word; 'the angels with a trumpet and great voice' signify heaven as a source of Divine truth. All this makes clear that these words of the Lord mean that at the end of the church, when there is no longer any love, and consequently no faith, the Lord will open the internal meaning of the Word and reveal the arcana of heaven...

“*Arcana-pl. of arcanum-a secret, or hidden thing, hence a truth hitherto unknown, from arceo, to shut up or conceal.” - 201

• Allegorical [non-literal] interpretation of the Book of Revelation will allow the Gnostics to fulfill the future Millennial promises in their own way and before their determined time. 

“There is a whole area in the field of English called Transformational Grammar, where everything is changed from one form to another [such as changing a verb to a noun]. This is the real seed plot of the so-called dynamic equivalency where you don’t have the words brought over into English (or another language) word-for-word…” – 188:90

“The reason a non-literal method of interpretation is adopted it, almost without exception, because of a desire to avoid the obvious interpretation of the passage. The desire to bring the teaching of Scripture into harmony with some predetermined system of doctrine instead of bringing doctrine into harmony with the Scriptures has kept the method alive.” – 493:60

"...it is suggested that not only demythologizing religion is necessary, but that the Church should play a part in remythologizing Christianity to make it credible to modern man." - 10:115

'The Nazi party...scorned the Christian churches...for their insistence that Christianity is superior to all other religions because it was entirely free from mythology. (They were)... incapable of comprehending how the Christianity of the Grail and the [book of] Revelation is the very climax and fulfillment of all mythology." - 63:261

PERSONAL APPLICATION

• Literal interpretation recognizes types and figures but does not build doctrine on them.

“...much of the confusion over literal interpretation can be removed when one properly understands the two primary ways the term has been used down through church history: ‘(1) the clear, plain sense of a word or phrase as over against a figurative use, and (2) a system that views the text as providing the basis of the true interpretation.' Thus, literalists, by and large, have used the term literal to refer to their system of interpretation (the consistent use of the grammatical-historical system; Johnson's #2), and once inside that system, literal refers to whether or not a specific word or phrase is used in its context in a figurative or literal sense (Johnson's #1).” - 432

• Allegorical interpretation symbolizes verses and passages of Scripture that can be interpreted literally in order to formulate gnostic doctrines.

"It would seem that the purpose of the allegorical method is not to interpret Scripture, but to pervert the true meaning of Scripture, albeit under the guise of seeking a deeper or more spiritual meaning... Whether the figurative or 'spiritual' interpretation of a given passage is justified or not depends solely upon whether it gives the true meaning. If it is used to empty words of their plain and obvious meaning, to read out of them what is clearly intended by them, then allegorizing or spiritualizing is a term of reproach which is well merited." (Dwight Pentecost) - 493:5,17
