3/21 The Greek month devoted to Artemis begins, and sacred cakes are made for her in the shape of deer. Artemis is also associated to the constellation Aries. In Babylon, this was the New Year where they reenacted the cosmic battle of Marduk & Tiamat. This festival lasted 12 days, and it may indeed be the origin of the Germanic 12 days of Yule. A white bull was sacrificed on the 5th day, which the Greek Virgil said represented 'the white bull (Taurus) who with his golden horns opens the year'...
3/25 In olden times, this day was assumed to be the spring equinox. Belat the wife of Bel, (also known as Astarte-Ostara) searches for Bel-Marduk, and upon finding him, causes his resurrection. In the Middle East, the god Adonis resurrects. Attis resurrects in the cult of Kybele. In old Germany, this was the original New Year which was changed to 1/1 in 1752.

    "Trevor Ravenscroft writes in The Cup of Destiny that Percival rides through the constellations of the zodiac in his quest for the golden cup. His destination is Aries, where lies the castle of the Holy Grail. According to the doctrine of the ancient mystery cult, as he enters the Grail castle, he is entering the mystery world of the human body, the brain. It is there that 'the stone of light' resides. The stone is supposedly the pineal gland, located at the base of the brain. It is the so-called 'center of man's consciousness. ...at the moment of body-free consciousness, which can be attained through Transcendental Meditation, a man receives the birth of light forces within his own skeleton. His whole physical body becomes penetrated by a new force, opening a third eye, the eye of perception. That is the concept of the Grail...

"...here we see Cassiopeia (the Church), lifted up, enthroned and glorified. The decan of Cassiopeia means 'The Enthroned Woman.'... Once bound, as Andromeda, to the rock, waiting to be devoured, Cassiopeia is now freed and is seated upon a throne high and lifted up. In the ancient Denderah zodiac in Egypt, her name is Set which means 'Set Up as a Queen." (872:85)

"Set or Seth (Eg,). The same as the Son of Typhon, who is dark side of Osiris. The same as Thoth [Hermes] and Satan, the adversary, not the devil represented by Christians... Typhon is in one sense the shadow, and hence the material aspect of Osiris, 'Osiris is the ideal Universe, Siva the great Regenerative Force, and Typhon the material portion of it, the evil side of the god, or the Destroying Siva.'" Supernova (1572) (902:69)

    "In August 1572 a supernova appeared in the constellation of Cassiopeia, and shone brightly for a year and a half until disappearing in March 1574.A supernova is a star which explodes catastrophically, with a sudden liberation of most of its energy and the dissipation of nearly the whole mass of the star into space. Its explosion appears to us about ten thousand times as bright as an ordinary star. The only supernovae observed in our Galaxy during the past thousand years occurre in A.D. 1006 (in Lupus), 1054 (in Taurus), 1572 (in Cassiopeia), and in 1604 (in Ophiuchus)... The 1572 supernova appeared brighter than Venus, and was clearly visible in daylight. The fact of its occurrence, and that it appeared in Cassiopeia, the Sign of the Celestial Virgin Queen, was (and still is) of prime significance... In 1572 the appearance of the supernova in Cassiopeia was the recognised sign of a new Christ child or Christ appearance being manifested (i.e. born) on Earth, as the 'Child' or 'Light' of the 'Virgin'. It was called 'the Star of Bethlehem'...

    "Tycho Brahe...wrote that for him the star marked the entrance of the world into the seventh revolution that would inaugurate the golden age: 'Some great Light is now at hand which shall enlighten and by degrees expell the former darkness.'.. Such then was the reaction to the new star...; it was the Star of Bethlehem inauguating the Second Coming and the restoration of the Golden Age.'

    "Cassiopeia...is also said to preside over the Christmas period, appearing due west of Polaris at midnight for the duration of the Twelve Days of Christmas exactly. In Chaldean astrology she is said to preside over the countries of Syria and Palestine also.

    "Cassiopeia means 'the Enthroned Lady' or 'Celestial Queen'. She represents the Virgin Queen and Mother of the Christ Child (or Children). Mythologically she is the mother of Andromeda, another constellation in the Piscean sector. Each new star that appears within her basic star pattern signifies the birth of a new Christ impulse or 'Child of Light' that will influence and manifest itself on Earth. Cassiopeia is the 'Woman with Child' of Revelation, and was called by the Druids, Llys Don, meaning 'the Court of the Lord.'...The appearance of a supernova symbolises the birth of a Christ Child in a particularly powerful or 'bright' way. During Francis Bacon's life two supernovae appeared in our Galaxy, the 1572-4 one in Cassiopeia and the 1604 one in Ophiuchus ('the Serpent Holder', also known as Aesculapius, who holds and masters the Serpent.)  Both appearances were highly significant and intimately associated with the Bacon-Rosicrucian work.

    "The Enthroned Lady or Heavenly Queen is the ancient title of Isis, the virgin mother of Horus, as also of Mary, the virgin mother of Jesus. The hieroglyphic symbol of Isis used by the Ancient Egyptians was that of a throne--Isis being the actual throne or seat upon which the child Horus sits as King of Light (the Sun King). The same symbol is employed in Christian iconography, and Mary is pourtrayed as the 'throne' or 'seat', with the Christ Child seated in her lap, his head aligned with her heart. It is a carefully constructed and important symbol, revealing many mysteries." (902:69-70)

"The Baptism of the Holy Spirit -- the Christing of the soul -- is known as the Greater (or Christ) Mysteries of Initiation, during which the illumined soul grows in strength and stature (not in quality, which is perfect, but in power and ability and knowledge), from 'childhood' to 'manhood', from resurrection' to 'enthronement' on the right hand (the creative aspect) of God the Father. 'Enthroned' as such, the fully illumined soul has become 'like unto God' -- a Christ, Son of God, the Light of the Divine Mind. The manifestation of God is complete." - 902:34-35

Perseus, the last decan in the sign of Aries, is another picture of Jesus Christ. "He was born in a most miraculous way---by a shower of gold descending upon the young woman Danae, bringing about his most amazing conception." (872:87)  Perseus' mother, Danae, had been locked in a tower by her father. "Although mortal suitors could not reach Danaë, Jupiter, king of the gods, transformed himself into a 'shower of gold' to enter the chamber and impregnate her... The story of Danaë is interpreted as an ancient foreshadowing of the Annunciation, the divine conception of Christ." (901) In Classical Mythology, "...the shower of gold represents a variation of the archetypal holy marriage in which the rain of the god of the sky fertilizes mother earth." (900) Danae/Tuatha de Danaan
