Indecision

You're here, you're there,
You can be up, you may be down,
There's just no telling where
You'll beg me to find you,
The next time you're so inclined;
See, this time it's different,
No trophies left for you to claim,
Any victory will be all my own,
You'll call for me when you see me coming,
But I'll just pass you by.
Today you're as cold as ice,
The only way I ever knew you;
Tomorrow you're as warm as the sunrise
And you come calling for me to melt,
Well, you keep your eyes to yourself,
Your mouth shut, your face turned,
Don't bother talking because these
Ears are always deaf ears when it comes to you.
I won't make the same old stupid efforts,
Follow my words to see if they're penetrating you,
Some things are ice, some things are steel,
Some things go through life unnoticed, unloved;
You find yourself in the midst of all of these,
Crying for me to comfort you,
To hold you like a whimpering baby in the night,
Well, honey, you had your chance,
You had a whole lifetime to make up your mind,
But the indecision came to you,
And stuck your veins with a vial of cold,
Cut out the last words of your beating heart;
Here you are, human as an ancient stone,
Looking forward to a life of not being heard,
Look forward to a life of being all alone
