Ousu Kannon

This fantastic temple is in Nagoya. I went there with Ayumi. This and temples like these have a prayer alter, an incense burner, and a place to buy protective charms. The incense is in a large pit; people wave the smoke over themselves in hopes of blessing themselves or curing ailments.

Incidentally, Kannon is a goddess in many forms of Buddhism; she's the goddess of good fortune. (She's known as Guan Yin in China)
