Week Seventeen

This is Why I Never Give Directions

October 28-November 1: I had Halloween week this week. My kids loved dressing up and playing. Seiichiro took me out for lunch on Wednesday, and asked to see my costume. He thought it was way too risque and kept saying, "Your mother made this?" I guess it's a good thing he's never seen the Soi costume, eh? (Or for that matter, Opera with the wonderbra...) Everyone else really liked it though, and a few people actually knew who i was supposed to be!

November 2: Takashi came from Kyoto to meet me! I had such a good time. I'm so dumb, though--I forgot my camera! (This always happens when I go to Nagoya Castle!) We went to the castle, which was fun. I love the castle, especially the swords. I heard some of the guys around say I was really pretty, so that made me happy. Afterwards, we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. Takashi had never been there, and he said he liked it a lot. He also brought me my Silent Hill 2 Soundtrack, which was so sweet of him. Afterwards, we wanted to go see Signs. So, we went to Kami Otai to go to Wondercity. Of course I, being directionally challenged, got completely lost and dragged poor Takashi hither and yon, looking vainly for some sign of the theater. I have no idea how long we wandered, but I'm guessing maybe an hour, and it started to drizzle. I felt so bad about it, but he was very nice about the whole thing. Eventually, we did stumble on the theater. We missed the showing of Signs, so we went to The Ring instead. It is absolutely terrifying. At first, I thought I was just being a weenie as usual, but I noticed Takashi was squirming around as much as I was. Pretty much everyone in the theater looked scared. (A side note--I love Japanese movie theaters! No one talking, no cel phones, no throwing food, no little kids allowed...bliss.) Takashi and I agreed it was extremely scary, though he says Ringu is scarier. I'll have to see it. Great day.
