Tif's Journal

Sonnet to Tiffany

It's easy to imagine you out front,
The first to leave the comfort of the womb,
The first on mountain paths to start the hunt
For light that dissipates the deepest gloom.
It's easy to imagine you ahead,
Helping in our struggle up the trail
Negotiating moves that stop us dead,
Knowing there is joy in this travail.
So in this climb I face now quite alone,
Bewildered by events beyond my ken,
Enraged, confused by nature in a stone,
I count on you to lead me once again.
For by your faith my hope begins to grow
That one day I can share what now you know.
