June 28, 2002 - the beginning.
Welcome. I was inspired by Chelsea (and my habitual viewing of kisrael.com) to make a website... this website. So I signed up with Angelfire (home of the former JCCR Online) and got cracking. Not much will be up for these first few days, but I'm working on it. Hopefully by the fourth I'll have the site pretty stable.

P.S. I just put up the guestbook, so sign it! (i write like someone is reading this)

June 29, 2002 - the day after the beginning.
Well, the Musings section is pretty functional at the moment. All the quotes are up, with a good amount of poetry (not to be confused with an amount of GOOD poetry, because it's really not too great.) And I'm definitely going to have to finish the "gals" section soon, because a good number of gals have been asking about it. Women... you can't live with them, you can't have heterosexual sex without them. If anyone has any opinion on any of this, e-mail me. Once again, I speak as though someone is reading this

This is an aerial view of my favorite highway exit. I'm not sure of the name or number of the exit, or even the number of the highway, but it's absolutely amazing. You end up totally perpendicular to where you were before, and you can feel the centrifugal force the whole way as you drive. Well, it's amazing to us nerds at least.

And finally, a quote:

"Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come." - Matt Groening, "Life in Hell"
June 30, 2002 - still working
I had a busy day, so the "gals" section won't be up until tomorrow... sorry! But since it's Sunday, I must reveal the all new feature: The Song of the Week. This week's song: Dashboard Confessional - This Brilliant Dance. So download it with Kazaa or something. Or if you don't want to deal with that, IM me and I'll send it to you.

Yup, you guessed it... a picture of a toaster made completely out of pieces of toast. It was an image of the day at the cellar a while back, and it's really quite interesting... especially if you're a toast fanatic.

July 1, 2002 - a new month
Finally, the "gals" page is up! It's still missing several pictures, though... As far as the Music section goes, Steve-O and Larrold are coming over maybe today to record "Wisdom Sandwich" and so we can finish the page. So keep a lookout for that.

I was looking through family pictures today... I think this is from when we went down to Virginia to visit relatives back in the 90's (that's so awesome that we can say "back in the 90's" now). But yeah, I've always been a strange kid, yet somehow I've also always been undeniably cool.

I've decided that something should be located here every day (like another "of the day" thing)... E-mail me with suggestions.

July 2, 2002 - making progress
I fixed the counter... I guess the "unique visitor" thing wasn't really working right. So yeah, that's about it. We didn't record Wisdom Sandwich today, so the Music page won't be up for another day at least. And I still have to add pictures and people to the gal page. So yeah, last night I went to Betsy's birthday party. I wish she would have had a better time. I really do love that girl. Speaking of birthdays, today is Steve's Birthday! So Happy Birthday, Steve!

I found this page while searching google for an image for a cd cover. The picture is a picture of really really small lobsters. It really surprised my how much lobsters actually grow. They go from being M&M sized lobsters to being 3 feet or more in overall body length.

I've decided on a feature for below the Image of the Day: A Feature of the Day. I won't exactly call it "feature of the day".. but every day it will be something "of the day".. whether it's a quote or a link or another picture or a store or a hairstyle. I think that's the best solution to my "feature" problem. Today's feature:

Quote of the day - "Do you want any white out or anything with that?"
Steve-O and I were at Office Max earlier, and we bought some paper... and the cashier asked us that question. I just think it's weird that out of anything he could have asked us if we wanted, he chose white out. Ah well, I guess you'd have to be there.

July 3, 2002 - twinkle twinkle
I'm very bored and very hungry at the moment, so I'm not thinking very straight. I think we're gonna get liquid nitrogen today, but I'm not sure if that's gonna go through or not. Hopefully I'll add some more stuff some time today.

This is a drawing of a Jupiter-like planet that was discovered orbiting the star 55 Cancri (about 40 light years away). Even if you don't believe that no life can exist in an atmosphere like Jupiter, just think... if there's at least one planet out there like Jupiter, then there's gotta be at least one planet out there like Earth... then there very likely is other life out there (not that I haven't always thought that). I dunno, its something to ponder.

Quote of the Day - "Shortening?? What the hell is shortening?!?!"
I made Steve a cake for his birthday yesterday, and after I had mixed all the ingredients, I read the box and it said "grease the pan with shortening"... Hence the quote of the day.

July 4, 2002 - oh my, it's the 4th of july!
Yay! My favorite holiday!!! I absolutely LOVE the 4th of July. Not necessarily because of it's historic significance (although that is cool), and not because I love my country (although I really do), but just because of the whole general feeling of the holiday... It's a very easygoing day, there's not really much of a hassle, people don't make too big of a deal over it and get stressed, it's in the middle of summer - a very relaxing time, and fireworks are sooo awesome to watch! I think it's the most romantic holiday of the year!

Sticking with the general theme of the United States today, here is a photo taken from space of the U.S. at night. It kinda makes me feel rather meaningless, but not in a depressing way.

July 5, 2002 - u r so jake
So the fourth of July was a blast... I hung out with the gang, and the Euclid fireworks were SOOOOOO awesome... it's like the one thing I can take pride in my city for. And I've been thinking a lot lately... I don't have any idea what I'm doing in my future, and there's not that I'm sure of. I think I need some stability in my life.

Mmm... I can't get enough of that Flesh Juce!! and only four hundred yen! (about $3.15 in U.S. dollars). Now that's a deal.

July 6, 2002 - the end of the first full week
Well, I guess I didn't really achieve my goal of getting the page totally up by now... but it's okay, it shouldn't be long until everything is ready. Any suggestions for something to add to the page? E-mail me.

I watched Superman II yesterday, and one of the last scenes in the movie is Superman carrying an American flag to reattach on the top of the White House. I thought this IOTD was rather appropriate, especially since Independence Day was only a couple days ago. (plus, Superman is SWEET.)
