Ultra Needy Giver

Measured by what what she gives
Her purpose is to serve
Only needing to be needed
Knowing love is more than she deserves
Cuz the darkness in her heart
And the selfishness in her skin
And a mother's voice inside her head
Remind her that she's evil within

She's the ultra-needy giver
Drinking in their pain
Drowning in an empty river
Filled with arid rain

Arms that ache to be held
Embrace the ones who cry
Only needing to bring peace
To those scarred by life's lies
And he knows he should be able
To do something to stop the massacre
Standing on the battlefield alone
As punishment for losing her

And he's the ultra-needy giver
Choking on their pain
Drowning in an empty river
Filled with arid rain

She tries to stand on reality
As it crumbles beneath her feet
Only needing to do something right
Yet once more faced with defeat
Trying to keep the peace
That never was really there
Between her past and her future
But who ever said life was fair?

And she's the ultra needy giver
Soaking up their pain
Drowning in an empty river
Filled with arid rain

Trying to give love
Though unsure it's ever been recieved
Only wanting something real
No longer to be decieved
Trying to lend to another
What peace they do not own
Giving out of emptiness
So someone else won't be alone

Cuz they're the ultra needy givers
Digesting so much pain
Drowning in the empty rivers
Filled with arid rain
