I look into your empty eyes
Full of my face reflected
You project nothing but the lies
That shield you from being rejected
‘Cause you can’t be rejected
If you don’t care
It’s easier to be disconnected
To deny the pain that’s there
They can't see through your empty eyes
Full of your anger, collected
You erect walls to keep your feelings inside
To shield yourself from being suspected
'Cause you can't be suspected
If you're just like the rest
They drone on, ill directed
They never second guessed
Tears never fall from your empty eyes
Your soul void, too long neglected
You deflect their judgmental knives
And are shielded from being dissected
‘Cause you can’t be dissected
If there’s nothing within
And still you’re elected
To wear the badge of sin
Please . . . don’t close your empty eyes
Full of lost hope ejected
You elect to hide your desperate cries
To shield you from being detected
Cause you can’t be detected
If you’re not really there
Too long retracted
Lost in despair
