Rain
Mood:
lyrical
It rained today in Kona. The rain here is nice. Not like when I lived in California where it would be cloudy and threatening rain for days before it actually rained. The clouds come and go fast here and the water runs down to the ocean, I guess, because no matter how hard it rains there is no water standing around for days that I have seen.
I just want it to be sunny and warmer again so I can go back to the beach. I haven't been for a while and I miss it. There are so many nice beaches here and the ocean has its various moods. From my window I can see the ocean. Sometimes it is so clear and sunny, it just sparkles. Somes it is ripply and rough like the stucco on the outside of a house. Sometimes it is as smooth as glass and other times you can see the whitecaps and white streaks in the water that look like roads. When it is cloudy or overcast, it is hard to tell where the water ends and the sky begins. This is what I can see from my window and I am about 500 feet above the ocean at least two miles away.
I can't hear the waves, or smell the salty fishy smell. I can't feel the coolness of the water or the roughness of the sand or rocks. I can't feel the strength of the waves and they float me back and forth between the beach and the deeper water.
It has been a while since I've been down to the beach, but soon I am going back and I will enjoy every minute of it.
