17) SNIP SNAP! - A Barber on the Ship!

One thing I've always found difficult is to get my first haircut after getting off the ship - My local barber always asks me-"Who cut your hair last? It's all uneven!"
I Tried explaining the first time that it was cut on ship, but somehow the poor bugger could'nt understand why we don't have barbers on ships. (I have the same trouble when I tell doctors that cargo ships don't have doctors. They can't believe there is any spot on the earth where there are no doctors! I am sure they would be glad to set up shop in the center of Sahara and on the moon too!)
Every ship has a "designated person" elected as the official barber
of the ship (With due apologies to the DP of ISM Code!) - Who one has to take an appoinment with , and then "pay" in kind (Who says the barter system is extinct!).
Mr J.M.Narbaiza sent me this nice photo from one of his ships. The Barber actually put his "advertisement" below a Photoluminescent IMO symbol! Wonder how the PSC missed it!!
"Maar Dalaaah" in Hindi (The Language spoken in the Indian Sub continent) means "Oh God! I am Dead!!"
