Dog playing Soccer? And starting on his master's high school team?

Have you ever seen the movie Air Bud? Or Air Bud 2, or 3, or so on? Well, if you haven't... it's about an extremely smart dog that plays sports. But the movie seems totally fictional, and seems like a children's movie. But, stranger things have happened. There really is a dog that plays sports.

The dog's name is Spencer, and like in the movie, he's a golden retriever. But he doesn't play basketball or football... he plays soccer. He plays on the same team that his master, David Harding, plays on. It's the Johnson County Community High School in Johnson County, Minnesota.

And believe it or not, he starts. Some would consider him the team's star player. With his blazing speed, and accurate shot, he's definately one of the best.

Spencer is a 4-year-old Golden retriever, and weighs about 72 lbs. David has taught the dog to play soccer ever since he got him for Christmas in 1998, but he never thought it would go this far. The dog's done numerous local advertisements and has even performed at a college basketball halftime show.

This dog is the real deal, so whenever you see some kids movie on the Disney channel, don't doubt it, because, after all, stranger things have happened.
