Dick filed this report:
Departed Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, after Richard Ong performed duties of Immigration, Customs, Airport Manager and Flying Club fueler and flight planner. He refiled our original flight plan with a shorter cut avoiding the heavily trafficked Singapore area. Arrived in Phuket just before dark. Stayed at the nearby Pearl Village Resort Hotel. Very nice, particularly the architecture.

Arrived at airport for early departure. Fueler arrived with only two hundred litres of avgas, all that they had. Shelby of Skyplan told me two months ago that they only had 200 litres and that a shipment from Australia was due shortly. It has not arrived yet. What to Do? Shell man said only fuel was from aero club in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia a hundred miles back track. Backtrack we did and added two drums (400 litres), enough for our journey tomorrow to Phuket, Thailand. Sabah Flying Club member Flight Instructor Richard Ong and his crew took good care of us including a 5 star Deluxe Tanjung Aru Resort Hotel. Super elegance for US$50. After Richard e-mail floppy, had time for a dip in the pool before dinner. Hope to get this off tonight before bedtime. If not as soon as possible. Best Regards, Richard
