True difference between Democrats and Republicans

The true difference between democrats and republicans
Mood:  mischievious
I'm tired of people stereotyping all republicans as being conservative. There are liberal republicans (shwartzenegger, Julliani). I'm tired of people stereotyping democrats as liberals. There are conservative democrats (lieberman, myself).
The name callings of cold hearted baby seal killing republicans, and liberal michael moore loving, hippy democrats. Not all democrats are liberals. I myself am a moderate-conserative democrat. I am very much against hard leftist liberals, and can't stand michael morre. I fully support our foreign policy and am willing to do anything that serves the best interest of the U.S. , even at the expense of other countries if need be. The constant battle I see these days isn't so much republican vs democrat.
Its more conservative vs liberal.
I support Kerry simply because I approve of his domestic economic policy. I don't want taxes to be lowered. I don't want a smaller govt. I don't want privatized social security. This is what makes me a democrat. I fully support Bushes foreign policy, and though Kerry in many ways is a fool, I believe he will continue our countries and Bushes foreign policy, as it has always been. Very little will change with Iraq and the War on Terror if Kerry is elected. We will still have troops in Iraq, and despite what Kerry thinks or says, I seriously doubt that his plan will allow for a free and independent, stable Iraq in 6 months, and have our soldiers back home. If he is elected, our war on terror will continue, or foreign policy will continue, and our influence in middle east and iraq will continue. And this is good. There will be little or no difference in our foreign policy regardless of who is elected. But because I do not support the republican economic stance, I will vote for Kerry. My foreign policy views are self centered, militant, and hawkish. I guess the best way to describe me would be a
NEO-CON Democrat.

Now certain issues like gay marriage, abortion, gun control, war on Iraq are inconsequential and do not truly define democrat and republican parties. These are simply hot topics that are popular at the moment.
Wheter gay marriage is legalized or not, very little will change. If its legalized most of us will continue to be heterosexual and our society will not fall apart. a few gays will get hitched and that will be all. I am pro guns I don't feel that banning gun ownership will reduce crime, nor do I feel that allowing gun ownership will reduce crime either. I see it as inconsequential, and unless you are a hunter, it won't affect you. But I say, let them keep their guns if they wish. I am pro death penalty and pro abortion. I hate hippies who protest for the sake of protesting and talk about "peace" and "disarming" U.S. when other countries want to destroy us. I think hippies are a drag on society and freaking idiots.

Now what makes me a democrat? What makes anyone a democrat? Being against the war? no. There are democrats , including myself who support the war.
Being pro gay marriage, and pro abortion? No.
These issues are just a hot item which is popular today. In the 1950's we had republicans and democrats. Did they argue over gay marriage and abortion? no. It wasn't an issue back then. What was the issue? One thing. The one true thing that transcends time and history. The one thing that despite various differences and issues DEFINES a republican and democrat. That one thins is............ TAXES!

Thats right. Republicans want a small gov't and lowering of taxes. Democrats want a large gov't and do not wish to lower taxes. Thats it! Thats what is important. Thats what defines republicans and democrats. All other issues are inconsequential and are left to the liberals and conservatives to argue about. Despite my hatred towards Michael Moore, communism. Despite my pro-war stance, and pro-U.S. interest stance, I am a democrat because I DO NOT want to lower taxes. Years ago, gay marriage wasn't an issue. Years from now, it won't be an issue either. But TAXES will always be an issue. And this is what defines a democrat and republican. Everything else is up in the air, and we will see differences and disagreements between members of the same party. TAXES TAXES TAXES! This is what matters, and this is what counts. This is why I am a neo-con conservative-moderate DEMOCRAT!

P.S. my home and car is covered in American flags and I support the war.
