Furious rain and thunderstorm. Worked at the creamery business. Lightning struck the chimney of N. Dufuer’s house.
July 3, 1903
Went down to the river. The river overflowed it’s banks. Just the tops of the posts of our fence on the other side of the river could be seen and the river had been 18 in. higher than that. Sold young pigs. Worked creamery business.
July 4, 1903
The bands went through here with 4 rigs on their way to Holding. Worked Creamery business. In the afternoon Hubert Nick Tony Blonigen were here. Played baseballs.
July 5, 1903
I attended Early Mass. Father Mother etc. visited C.P. Rausch.
July 6, 1903
Hauled sand to old pig trough sluce. Took 1 load of hay out of the slue.
July 7, 1903
Washed. Cultivated corn. Took rest of the hay out of slough. Heavy rain.
July 8, 1903
Hauled manure from pig barns. Fixed thrashing machine. Cultivated corn. Made lettuce patch.
July 9, 1903
Joseph Barbeln died last night at 12 o’clock. Rep wired thrashing machine. Henry Schaefer took 25 young pigs. Heavy rain.

Attended the funeral of Joseph Barbeln. Father took 250 butter tubs from Freeport. Sprinkled potatoes. Made a wooden clock.

Cleaned well and pump near straw-stack place.
July 12, 1903
Math attended Early Mass. The village baseball club intended to play with us and the Blonigen boys. Half of them were afraid so the leader (M. Haehn) took N. Mohs and V. Garding in their place. We defeated them by a score of 7 to 13 Ewald Shulte was umpire.
July 13, 1903
Worked in the garden. Shot a turtle dove in flying. Father and Peter "mowered" the piece near Peter Doll and some wild oats. Pete broke the tongue of the mower. We picked 3/4 gal. of raspberries. Took calf trough from river. Killed wood chuck.

Washed. Peter mowed the rest of wild oats and part SE 1/4 of meadow.
July 15, 1903
Took 2 loads of hay near Peter Doll. Cleaned pigs.
July 16, 1903
Stacked 3 loads of wild oats and took 2 loads home.
July 17, 1903
Raked and bunched part of the S.E. 1/4 and took two loads home.

Raked and bunched pat of S.E. 1/4 Mowed part of the N.E. 1/4 stacked 1/2 load and 2 loads home.
July 19, 1903
Sunday. Father Susgeninsky preached and took up a collection. Played baseball. Were defeated by village by a score of 17 to 13. Jno. Deiderichs – Umpired

Cut barley. Raked and bunched part of N.E. 1/4 took 1 load home. Pope died.

Stacked 2 1/2 loads. Mowed rest of N.E. 1/4 took 2 loads home.

Cultivated potatoes. Mowed west half of meadow. Washed. Killed a woodchuck on Sec. 22.

Mowed by hand in all corners. Raked rest of S.E. 1/4. Bunched same raked and bunched N.W. 1/4. Took 2 loads home.

Stacked S.E. 1/4 and took the rest of N.W. 1/4 home. (2 loads)

John attended Early Mass. Were defeated by the village – farmer club by 18-21.

Heavy rain last night. Attended the requiem mass for the pope. Repaired threshing machine.

Heavy rain and a big thunderstorm last night. Washed. Sprinkled potatoes. Mowed at Sinclair. Picked raspberries.

Mowed at Sinclair. Alvind came. M & I raised tomb-stone. Loosened barley stocks.

Father and I stacked barley. Peter and Math bunched at Sinclair and brought 1 load home.

Bunched and stacked at Sinclair. Took 2 loads home.
