Father, Math and John reapered. Peter and I went hay making to Sec. 121. Rain.

Mother, Math & John attended mass. Hauled pigs to Braun & Haehn. Reapered behind the slue.

Peter and I made hay on Sec. 121. Finished behind the slue and started at the six acres.

Reapered 6 acres and the 9 acres in the pasture.

Finished hay-making at Sinclair. Made 60 loads in all.

I attended Early Mass, Mother Susie etc. visited Mrs. M. Noll. Played baseball. (Practice). Broke bicycle.

Reapered on Sec 121. Saw quails, ducks and praire-chickens. Lizzie Blonigen was here.
August 11, 1903
Father Peter Math & John finished on Sec. 12. They saw lots of praire chickens and picked 1/2 gal. of blackberries. I worked the creamery business.

I worked the creamery business. Father, Peter Math & John reapered our entire field on Sec.22. Susie Bunny Leo & Bibes went with them and picked 1 gal cranberries and 2 gal cherries.

Math attended Early Mass. I went to Math Blonigen. John & Math went to Senart. Nick Blonigen bought Dan’s share of the thresh-rig. John Schmitz and wife were here insuring until 11:30 P.M.

Mother attended Early Mass. Nick Garding and his wife were here. Played baseball with Martin Helois Ahmann (Practice)
August 17, 1903
Washed. Cut oats in the forenoon and stacked in the afternoon. The oats being too green.
August 18, 1903
Stacked wheat from 9 acres and 6 acres and one load from the main field in the forenoon. In the afternoon stacked 3 loads from Sec. 121.

In the forenoon stacked 2 loads from Sec. 121. In the afternoon cut oats.

Cut oats the whole day.
August 21, 1903
In the forenoon stacked 2 loads from Sec. 12. I broke down with the old hay rack. Took Karl’s rack. In the afternoon stacked the rest. (3 loads) from Sinclair. I had a tip over too.

Stacked everything from Henry Schaefer (9 loads) in the forenoon with 2 teams and in the afternoon with 3 teams.
August 23, 1903
Math attended Early Mass. Hubert & Tony Blonigen Math John I & Bunny defeated the village club by a score of 20 to 11. John Diedrichs and N. Blonigen umpired the game.
August 24, 1903
Washed. Rained a little last night. Peter mowed weeds. Father drove to Paynesville and brought shot gun cartridges, rifle cartridges, sacker pipe, rivets lacing nails etc. along. Had Mollie, Dick and Joe Black. Received roll for wringers and attached it to it. John Leo & I picked a few nuts.
August 25, 1903
Math & I glued bicycle tire to rim. Rained a little this morning. Started stacking at 10:30 and stacked the rest for this year. In the evening N. Blonigen was here planning about thrashing. Pulled out engine and thrashing machine and fixed up for thrashing oats which P. Burg & Jno Garding had brought but on account of the rain we could not.

Rained slightly in the morning and did all kinds of small work in the forenoon. In the afternoon plowed till 6 o’clock and then stopped on account of rain. Made out an order for Montgomery Ward & Co. Received permission for ordering a mask and did so after supper.

Plowed and worked cry. business in forenoon. In the afternoon worked ditto and hauled up cry. statements.
August 30, 1903
I attended Early Mass. We and Blonigens played some catching in the afternoon. Mother Susie etc. visited Mrs. John Derichs.
August 31, 1903
Father & Nic Blonigen drove around with top buggy engaging threshing jobs. Plowed. Washed. Let feed oats apart. Drove to Klier for chain but chain was at Roscoe. Dan took and brought back mower. Klier brought chain. Picked 2 pails of plums.

We got through cutting grain today. We need the following repairs:
Platform canvas
Small canvas
Board for reel
2 guards one for grain end
Short flat headed bot for hind part of platform
I think small canvas and lower elevator can be repaired and old platform canvas should be made shorter. We have new parts for knotter and dog business & 3 sickle sections
