After going through these pages, and taking a step back from the serious side of this, it's not all doom and gloom. Having being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in September 2002, at the age of 37 and having never being ill a day in my life. I have eventually started to come to terms with it, I wont say it's been easy for either me, or my family, but by having this terminal illness has made me even more determined not to let it beat me. I am now starting to do some running again and frequently run 6 miles twice a week. My end goal in doing this, is to run the Edinburgh Marathon on 13th of June 2004, part of the training for this will be taking part in The Auld Toun 10K Race and the Dunfermline Half-marathon. For anyone who has Diabetes or knows anybody with it, knows that this is not going to be an easy challenge, but God willing and plenty of regular running and Diabetic control, anything is possible.
Wish me luck.
