February 25
Started reducing the number of breastfeedings. Took out the evening one, because they seem to need that one the least.
February 27
Am only nursing in the morning now. They seem to need that one the most.
March 04
Did not nurse at all. Both boys, especially Cade, cried for a very long time, several times, when they would normally nurse. Milk in a bottle/sippy cup pacified Brendan almost every time, and Cade sometimes.
March 05
Did not nurse at all again. Didn't really bother Brendan that much, but Cade still fussed a lot. Since this was the AM feeding, I just gave them a bottle of milk and scrambled eggs and toast and that was good for awhile, but Cade still wanted to nurse a bit later.
March 06
Cade woke up first, crying, so I brought him to our bed with a milk bottle in case that would be enough for him. It wasn't; he threw a huge fit, kicking me in the face and slapping the bottle away. This was definitely the worst day so far. I almost gave in, but I remembered Mom or Dad saying something the other day about him throwing a fit and not having any tears, so it seemed he was just mad. Same thing today - no tears. So I figured he was just mad. I was really prepared to nurse him if he was really crying with tears, but he never did. Finally I just made him eggs again and he was distracted; by that time Brendan had woken up and did not cry at all.
March 07
Both boys woke up at the same time; made eggs and toast, gave juice to them, they were fine. Did not ask to nurse at all today. YAAAAYYYY!!!
August 13
The boys are doing well. Brendan is learning his ABCs from some flashcards I made using familiar pictures and words. He is also using the potty about once a day. Cade is getting taller, and says 3-4 word sentences. They both love the new kitties, but also love playing with the food and water dishes. Still loving our house. We got another crib last night, and they slept really well. Didn't seem to mind being in separate cribs when they woke up this morning. Love bubble baths. Eat a lot, love mini pancakes and "Sirp", whatever Momma's eating, plain bread, bananas, crackers, "Peem Puff" (cream puffs). Cade loves sweet things, so we have to be very disciplined about brushing teeth. They have an appointment for shots next week so I will update the Weight Chart then. Gotta go - I hear CD's and DVD's being played with. Oh yeah, they pulled out the tape from Prayer Bear 2 so I hope the Prayer Bear 3 DVD comes today. Peace!
September 26
BC turned 2 on the 26th! (26nd Albuquerque style). Nana and Papa came over and gave them presents, including a duck which Cade insists on sleeping with and a "Prayer Bear" which Brendan sleeps with. Some of the presents came in a cute 3D bee bag that I'd like to frame without the glass over it so it can pop out. Some suckers which were a very big hit, some blocks and a shape-sorter thingy that I expected Brendan to like, which he does, but Cade also brings it to me (all day!) to open for him so he can do it too.
Nali and Grandma came over on Friday (while we were at the concert) and gave them two cute trucks, a three-wheeled "motorcycle" which is Kawasaki like the keyboard we got Brendan (we got Cade a car that plays music - he jams out to it - and goes forward and backward) and a basketball hoop.
On Saturday Papa and Nana came over and we had pizza and the ice cream cake I made. I made the Superman/Sorrell "S" and a Prayer Bear outline with frosting but couldn't get them off the wax paper to put on the cake without them breaking. Took pics anyway.
September 27
September 27th went to the Third Day concert. It was so tight. Opening act was Paul Coleman Trio which, I must admit, I had few expectations of. I had heard one song on the radio and dismissed its' sound as rather generic, and typical, Christian radio fare. I was way off. They are, (all four of them), so energetic and have such great stage presence. The music rocked too.
Tait went second, only about 10 minutes after PC3 finished (Troy was really impressed about how well put together the show was - sound was great, equipment setup/breakdown was quick, each band did a great show), and they were so good! Did some DC Talk songs - In the Light and a jam that ended in Jesus Freak, probably more but I was just enjoying it so don't remember everything - did Thy Word, Spy off the new album and some other songs that were really impressive. They're my new favorite band, which doesn't replace the old faves, just adds on to the list.
Of course then Third Day came on. It was so amazing. They did all my favorite songs, the only one they didn't do that I was hoping for was Thief, because I knew Troy would want to hear it. Also did Creed (I think that's the title) by "the late great Rich Mullins," as Mac said. It was cool watching the guys sing some of the lyrics as they played their respective instruments, or mouthing the sound of their guitar, and just interacting with each other with what looked like inside jokes, little nods, just an easy "family" kind of atmosphere. Mac sounded just like he does on the CDs which is silly to say but I hadn't realized I was worried about that. He did a good job preaching too. I'm sure if Brendan and Cade had seen him up on stage with all the lights dimmed but the one spotlight on him they would have said "Deezus!" Silly boys. I wished Mom and Dad could have gone, it felt like an awesome church service. I really felt the Lord, and a lot of other people did too. I'm so glad Troy got us those tickets early.
