Challenge, Use this line: " How had I died among snows and smoking fires and come to rise here beneath this caressing sun?"
"First memory?" Duncan sighed fondly at Joe's question. "I think it was maybe when I was about 3. It's really simple, just a little memory of my mother rocking me in front of the fire. I was very warm. I felt loved and cared for."
Amanda smiled softly, taking her turn. " I was a little older, about 7. It was winter, I was tired and very tired, and there was a fire in a tavern, I went inside, and the owner let me take orders to tables in exchange for a night there. His wife took care of me. It was wonderful, the first time I ever thought someone really loved me since the woman who took care of me as a baby died."
Joe grinned. "What is it with you old people and fires? My first memory was of cookies coming out of my grandmother's oven. Warm chocolate chip cookies, dipped in cold milk. It was great. "
Methos sighed sadly, knowing he'd never be able to not answer this question. His eyes went dark with melancholy " I don't have any childhood memories. My first was right after my first quickening. I don't remember much, I just remember right after his head hit the ground. It was snowing, and cold. Not exactly the place for a fight. The quickening sent fires to the trees around. I remember thinking that it was impossible for the trees to catch fire, as wet as they were from the snows. One crashed down next to my head. Then I was out cold. When I woke, it wasn't winter, I figured I'd been frozen until the thaws. So, to quote " How had I died among snows and smoking fires and come to rise here beneath this caressing sun?" It was warm, and I laid back down and fell asleep." Methos glanced at the shocked faces, amazed that the normally reserved immortal had shared such a memory with them. Methos smiled, knowing that they'd never be exactly sure if he was making it up or not. He turned to Joe, continuing the game "So, Truth or Dare?"
