You are listening to "The Boys of Fairhill"

Although nothing is known of Jeremiah's wife, it is known that they had nine children, seven sons and two daughters. As previously stated, Jeremiah stayed behind in Ireland on the family home in Ahaliskey, County Cork. A little townland just outside Ballinascarthy and near the site of the birthplace of Henry Ford before his family migrated to America. For the most part Jeremiah's sons all left Ireland with the exception of his son Jeremiah who remained on the family plot in Ahaliskey, and two daughters.

The first born to Jeremiah was John who was married to Ann Hellen. They had five children Mary, Sadie, Daniel, (all single) Anna and Elizabeth

The second sibling was Patrick who married a woman whose surman was Glennon. They had three children, James, Daniel and Kathyrn, all unmarried.

The third child was Daniel who married a lady named Catherine (surname unknown)and fathered four children, Ann, Joseph, Mary and John.

The next child was Michael whose wife name was Josephine. See family photo circa 1936, with daughter Josephine. They had three children, Elizabeth who married Howe Foley, John and Josephine.

Timothy, a bachelor, was the fifth born to Jeremiah and his wife, followed by number six, Elizabeth who married a man named Akers. It is believed they remained in Ireland but nothing really is known of them.

The seventh child was Jeremiah who was married to Annie Crowley and had five daughters, Anne (Sr. Finbarr), Elizabeth, Twins Mary who was married to Daniel McCarthy (no relation) and John Harrington with whom she had six children; Margaret, Finbarr, Patricia (Patsy)shown with husband Donal O'Dwyer, Eileen shown with husband Billy Shannon and family , Jeremiah shown with wife Mary, and Donal.

Mary's twin sister was Ellen, and finally Margaret, who married Pat Doyle. Margaret passed away on December 27th, 2001 in Cork City, Ireland. She was the last of Jeremiah's siblings and signalled the end of an era. She will sorely be missed. I am just happy that I got to meet with her one last time in May of 2001 at which time we said goodbye knowing full well that we would never meet again in this world.

The last two children of Jeremiah were James who eventually settled in New York State and Mary, no information is available on either of them at this time.
