THE STORY OF KAITLYN
As
a journalist I enjoy telling stories about people.
But first let me tell you my story. With my persistence, intellect,
awareness, and charisma I have what it takes to be a successful
journalist.
I have always been very active and outgoing which is why my parents
enrolled me in various activities as a child. These activities helped
me to discover my talents and passions. I enjoy being part of a
team, and I still play sports, including soccer and softball.
After graduating from high school, I attended Simon Fraser University
where I took a wide variety of courses. I learned a lot in my first
year at university: what I like, what I dislike, and what I want
to pursue in life. However, I decided to take some time off from
school before taking the next step in my career because I wanted
to see and experience more of the world.
Last spring, I realized my dream of traveling around Europe. I backpacked
by myself around Europe, and I experienced so many unbelievable
things. I visited twelve countries in Europe and was exposed to
many different cultures. I tried to learn as much as I could from
each of them. That trip changed me in many ways; it was a great
learning experience. I learned about history, culture, and religion,
but most of all I learned a lot about myself.
I am currently a broadcast journalism student at the British Columbia
Institute of Technology. I have learned so much during my time at
BCIT. The practical experience and hands on learning are fundamental.
This
is the story to date of Kaitlyn Herbst, broadcast journalist.
