Confessions of a Frisky Fish

Saving a Friend
This is important. This stands for Frisky Fish everywhere. It is not only a life we are trying to save, but an institution. A set of principles, a way of life. This one little fish is symbolic of our entire group. And I'm scared that he is also symbolic of our (especially my) future.

What will happen if Frisky dies? Will it mean the death of Frisky Fish everywhere? He's sick right now. Has been for a while but now we just realized he needs to get better.

Isn't that weird though? That when the real Frisky Fish gets sick and needs to be healed, the metaphorical one does too? Only when you see the signs of sickness do you realize how bad the problem has gotten. And the strangest thing is, it took the girls to help.

For Frisky, it took Cookie, Candy, and Bunni to realize that something was wrong with Frisky. Just as it took SSK to make me realize that there was a problem.

Luckily, I have great friends who can help. But I've given Frisky some medicine and I hope it works. I don't quite know how to give the metaphorical Frisky medicine. She needs it though.

But I'm trying! So, please be kind to a diseased fish who is only trying to get better. Because the last thing you want to do is mess with her head and cause her to die.

You Have Some 'Xplaining To Do...
Now, I could just sit here and go off about why boys suck and blah blah blah, but I'm not going to do that. Because we already know the answer to that. What we don't know is the WHY do they do those things that make them absolutely horrible, and heartless and so unforgivable. So when we figure that out, we will safely put away the junk food and the ice cream and live stress free lives.

No, I'm not going to blame all of you guys (and you are all at fault. You really are) for being jerks. For mistreating your girlfriends, for ditching beautiful girls on Saturday nights when she drops her plans to be with you simply because you asked, or for feeding lies that you may think are comforting but turn out to be disasterous.

Instead, today's entry is dedicated to the two people in this world who have been there always. Who know how it feels to have their hearts ripped out and stomped on, who knows how it feels to be underappreciated. That's right, my girls. Because without them, I'd be a horrible, sad, boring, ugly Michigan girl...just like the others that go to there.

Why are they so great? I can call them anytime, day or night, and talk for HOURS about whatever is going on. They listen and more importantly, they understand. They offer advice and they know just what to say to make me feel better.

And what's more, when we go out, it's always a blast. Don't believe me? Read the past entries. Then remember January's trip to Canada, February's night at Hard Rock, March's Canada trip for Shannon's birthday, and April's weekends at UM. And then add last night's trip to Ram's Horn and drive around (where we stalked a couple of hottie police officers) You can't get better than them.

We've realized that we don't need guys in our lives to give us meaning. In fact, have you seen us? Yes, we're beautiful, smart, talented girls who can survive just fine on our own. So in reality, it has come down to this: YOU need us. And because of this, perhaps you should rethink your actions and get your acts together because we refuse to fall for your lines, your underappreciation, and your crap anymore. You have to prove yourselves worthy of us: of our attention, of our time, and of our affection. Pull that off, and you'll be the luckiest guy on the planet.

Crazy Fridays
That's right, second day home and another exciting girl's night.
We laid low this time though. No clubbing or anything like that. We went to the movies and saw the cutest movie ever!
I definitely recommend seeing 13 Going On 30. Jennifer Garner does a really good job. It's so believable, I swear! And not only that, the movie gets you hooked! I mean, we're sitting there praying that nothing bad happens to her (because of that witch she says is her best friend) and crossing our fingers that she gets together with her "soulmate" and I swear, we almost started bawling. It was that good! Oh, and there's this great "cheerleading flashback" scene where if you'd been to the Homecoming Pep Assembly my junior year, you'd totally understand why me and Karen were soo excited!!

So after the movie, we decided to have a little fun and made a trip to Canada to visit Dave at the TreeHouse. Of course, Dave is a sweetheart and bought us free drinks--Sex on the Beach really is amazing...you should try it ;)

We spot a couple of cute guys and we're debating if we should talk to them. I say it's Shannon's turn to be the desingated Hussie since Karen was last night. But she says she can't because of her boyfriend. I think, as long as he doesn't know, what's the harm? But we sit down at a table and surprisingly, we don't have to do anything! The cute boys came to us.

They were from Western and the one guy was like "Do you guys know where Ann Arbor is?" I start cracking up. I was like "I just got back from there today. I go to UM" and we started talking and he gets all excited when I tell him I'm a film major. Better yet: He's has great taste in movies AND his uncle worked on Finding Nemo!! If you watch the movie, the part where Bruce is chasing Nemo and Dory in the submarine, everytime Bruce hits the side of the submarine, that's the sound of bricks hitting the side of his cottage. How cool is that?

So obviously, I gave him my number (he asked for it!) They wanted us to head out to another club, but since we had to be back before the bars closed (rules of our caring mothers) we said we had to head back soon. So I got the title of honarary Hussie for the night.

But even though we spent like an hour and a half in Canada, it was still really a blast! As all our girly adventures are. But I swear, they are spoiling me so much! After this summer, how can I go back to Ann Arbor? They'll have to come up and see me like every weekend or I'll be in trouble! (not that I don't love my UM boys, but it's just a different experience walking into a room and being the center of attention with three girls than walking into a room and immediately starting a conversation about sports or whatever.)

So that was Friday! But no more partying for this girl until after Tuesday! I have finals to study for and some shopping to do. BAck to School for Monday night, then officially done Tuesday at 5:00!!

Wow, what a night!
Oh yeah, my first night home and of course we had to celebrate!! So me and the girls went out on the town and let me just tell you, it was a blast, as always.
Where did we go? Well, we decided to visit our good friend Phil at Hard Rock Cafe, even though he wasn't working that night, which was sad. We get there, and I swear, it was something out of a movie. Oh! Actually, it was more like that commercial on Fox Sports Net where the Colorado guy walks into HockeyTown Cafe and everyone in there just stops and stares at him. Because I swear, when we walked through the revolving doors, that's exactly what happened! (hockey jerseys everywhere too because most people had come from that disappoint game one loss to calgary.) We ended sitting up at a table near the bar and there were two tables behind Karen who would not stop staring and then like the entire bar kept checking us out.
And the great part was, we weren't even in club clothes. Just casual wear (attributing to the fact that all my cute outfits are packed in boxes up at school)
So we're sitting there and if you're a guy, you have to realize that when three beautiful girls order huge hamburgers, you have to be in love. Well, the waitstaff loved us. But even funnier was, this old guy comes over to our table and we're like "oh god." and he was like "I'm gonna bring my friend over here to talk to you. Just start to flirt with him and act like you like him. it'll totally make his day." So we're like, ok. (although we're really more concerned about the food coming than anything else.) So the friend, i think his name was Eric?, comes over to our table and starts talking to us. He mentions something about the hockey game, so I start to go on about the Wings and he cuts me off. Then he mentions he's going golfing tomorrow, so I ask where he's going golfing and he completely ignores my question. Now, normally I'd be VERY upset at being ignored but it's obvious this guy is infatuated with Karen. He can't take his eyes off her and every question is really directed toward her. Me and Shannon laugh and sit back and let Karen have some fun.
So this guy is really sad. If he was supposed to be a ladies man, he must be hitting on the ugly dog-women of UM because he's not very smooth. The only real appeal I could possibly see is he's got money. Yeah, he wouldn't shut up about his new Lexus or whatever. We're like, oh wow. We don't care. But he finally goes away and we get excited.
Then, this guy in an Yzerman jersey comes up to us and we don't really talk to him because yay! our food has arrived! So we're eating and then the waitstaff comes by and talks to us, all the while this table behind karen is staring at us. One of the guys is really cute so me and shannon are intrigued. But then he stands up and we realize he's old because what young guy wears jeans with a belt and his shirt tucked in? My point exactly.
So anyway, we're eating and then the old guy comes up to us again. He asks for Karen's number, but she's a little skeptical. That's when he tells us he's married and has a little girl and he showed us pictures. His wife was gorgeous and their daughter was adorable, so we're raving about that. Karen writes down her number to give to Eric (don't worry, she's not going to answer when he calls) and when we finish eating, Eric comes over to our table again. He starts talking about the Wings game and then the Pistons and then the Tigers and how his company has a suite or something. And now, let me just say to all you boys out there...DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT SPORTS JUST FOR CONVERSATIONS SAKE!! Especially if I'm in the conversation. God this guy was driving me crazy! He'd bring something up, I'd go to say something, and he'd completely ignore me or cut me off. I'm sorry that I know more about sports than you, but then maybe you shouldn't be an idiot and talk about it if you don't want anyone to answer you! (but then, this makes me wonder if maybe all the women he's been with have known nothing and so he wasn't prepared for an intelligent response?)
So anyway, he tries to get us to go to a bar with him and we're like, we've had enough of this. So we (gracefully) say we're not sure what's going on and get up to leave. As we walk out, everyone stares, yet again. And there are a few whistles. We just laugh. Always leave them wanting more ;)
So what else...The guy at the parking garage was cute, so we waved to him and he waved back.
We drove down Woodward and oh the hookers were out! There was this grotesque, old, man-looking woman on the street with too tight clothes. Really sick, but the first one we spotted. Then there was a group of them about 3 miles down the road. We got really excited (if you've never been hooker spotting, you should really go. It's hilarious.)
Then, as we make it back to the safe neighborhood near Birmingham, we drive next to this car and the driver is really cute. So we get his attention and I wave to him. He's totally embarrassed but he has the cutest smile ever. He waves back and tries to get the Hell away from us. We actually end up catching him again, but instead of risking being stuck at a light with us next to him, he speeds up and drives away.

Well, that was our night. We went out, stirred up hockeytown, and made it back before the bars got out.

Oh! I almost forgot! So we're driving back and Karen's phone rings. She looks at the number and says "here, you need to answer this." So I do but as I do, she realizes it's not who we want it to be. So i say hello, expecting to hear someone else and the guy says "it's eric" and I'm thinking...he's not friends with anyone named Eric...and then I realize who it really is and so I say "oh we can't talk. bye. and hang up."
Then I felt bad for answering but KAren said it was ok. Now she knows when he calls and not to answer. Then she looks at her phone and says "the area code we want is 312, not 313." and we laugh. because, now that I think about it, it would be weird for him to call her twice in one day. especially since I made her call him back when we were at Hard Rock. Honestly, it's hilarious that he called!!
(if you don't know who "he" is, it's ok. Because you don't need to know to understand the situation.)

Now our night was complete. And if that's just how the first night of summer went, imagine how it'll be in July!!

Summer...?
Ok, so I know I still have 2 finals left so it's not officially summer, but it is for me because I am home. But if you missed your chance to say goodbye or whatever, you've got two more days to redeem yourselves!!

But I have to say, I like being home. Winston Churchill is like the cutest thing ever! He follows me around everywhere and refuses to let me get any work done. He's just that cute. (haha, now I know how my friends feel ;) Just kidding, of course)
But despite the fact that I love being home (at least until I have to get a job) I think I will miss U of M. A little.

Here's some highlights of why I'd miss this year:

~NO psycho-bitch scary roommate to put up with...yay!
~Working at S & B was actually fun. Way better than the "90210" drama back home!
~Football games were exciting...Especially my first OSU game at the Big House.
~Annual Miami trip...I was tanning on the beach and in the ocean while everyone else enjoyed Michigan's first snowflakes...
~Easy first semester. When you HAVE to watch TV and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to get an A in class, it's always a good thing.
~Rose Bowl!! Although we lost and the tour sucked, it was definitely an experience.
~Have definitely made some interesting acquaintances. If they become friends, that's a different story. (Only if they remember me over the summer :))
~GIRL'S NIGHT every month. Whether Canada, Somewhere in Michigan, or visitin Ann Arbor, they're always a blast (and hot as hell.)
~Winston's visit to Ann Arbor. Without even really teaching him, he's become an elitest. Refusing to mingle with the scary liberals. Good boy!
~Basketball games with my Dad, Hockey games with Ryan and Erika (and waving to Matt in the press box at 10 min. in the 2nd period.) Oh, and hearing my mum scream the penalty cheer as loud as she can. (hearing her say COCKSUCKER is definitely an experience you don't want to miss)
~Being on the Michigan field to watch the Spring Game
~haha, talking to the hot guy from the end of the hall...even if he never remembered my name.
~Sad as it is to actually see...realing why being a SAC is HILARIOUS
~Quering about victimization and wondering if Doug Funnie really is one...(although Mike says she's not)
~Going to parties where...obviously, the cutest girls are the center of attention!!
~Visiting the museums with my favorite Hurricane
~Oh! and the list of weird, crazy, and funny pick-up lines I've heard this year keeps building.

I'm sure there are other wild and crazy fun things that I can't remember but Let me just say, I had a lot of fun with a lot of you people. And I'll miss this year but I am soo looking forward to next year. Can you say Luau at my place? Definitely roasting a pig on my balcony.

Wow, it's over...
Well, I've survived! My 12 page world cinema paper has been written and it only took me 6 hours! I managed to get a little sleep, which excites me since I figured I wouldn't get any! (6:00 am to 10:00 am isn't too bad)

Now I'm finishing up some revisions on my baseball story, which I have to thank ALL of you for helping me write. It would not be as good without all your knowledge and suggestions.

And as of 3:00 this afternoon, my classes for my sophomore year at UM are DONE! I will be in Troy this time tomorrow and moved out on Friday. I can't believe the summer is here already. It seems like this year has gone by way too fast.

I won't get all nostalgic on you guys just yet, I'll wait till I'm home for that. But just because I won't be in Ann Arbor for the summer does not mean you are allowed to forget about me! I want to hear everything going on with you (and if you aren't one of the girls, you probably don't understand that when I say everthing, I mean EVERYTHING.) So keep me posted!
And if you're staying in AA this summer, I'm only 45 minutes away, I can drive up and visit you anytime you'd like. If you are going back to Troy, I'll see you around. And if you live somewhere else, I could potentially see you but you have to make an effort on that one.

Ok, sorry for the rambling. I'm just so excited that I made it through Tuesday alive (and loaded on chocolate like you wouldn't believe!) Good luck on finals everyone!!

As Promised...
Sports! Ok, so there's a lot going on, in a way. Not as much as the Sporgy weekend over Easter, but enough to keep things interesting.

The Tigers won today! I would like to attribute that to a starting left-handed pitcher (Nate Robertson) 10-4 over the Indians. They are now 8-5 which is really impressive and makes me so proud that the year I get into baseball, they start to play well.

The Red Wings have defeated Nashville and await the announcement of their Round 2 team. (I'm hoping for Calgary. I hate Vancouver and Playing Colorado somehow is not as exciting as it had once been.)

After like a month off, Badds will be golfing this weekend, though I don't remember what the tournament is called. But I'm excited because I miss watching him play (and his crazy outfits. I wonder what he'll be wearing this week.)

NBA, the Pistons won their first playoff game and I think they'll make it to the next round. Honestly, I didn't pay too much attention to the game because baseball was on too, but it was an impressive victory.

That's all for my sports right now except for SATURDAY which is a true holiday. That's right, it's NFL draft day and I'm so excited! We've got hopefuls Chris Perry and Sean Taylor looking for homes (hopefully with the Pats and the Lions) and it's very important we see which team Mr. Clarrett goes to because then we will refuse to watch that team play ever. (and what a sad day it will be if that team turns out to be my beloved Patriots.)

Interesting...
So yesterday (saturday) was an interesting day. Like I said before, Winston didn't come up but it was ok.
I had to work at 3 and it sucked because it was so nice out and the store was soo boring, I couldn't see myself staying there until 9. I would have gone crazy! But I was saved! Aman and Stick were like "if we can get you off work, will you play frisbee with us?" and I said ok. So at 6, I went to the Arb with them to play frisbee and it was really fun. I got back to the room around 9-ish and talked to Mark for a while. I stopped by mike and dave's room because I wanted to know if they had heard the "vocal" girl in the baseball room next door (i thought it was hilarious personally)and Mike was like "we're going to the engineering party, want to go?" so I made myself the last of the alcohol (sex on the beach, of course) and we went to the party. and for an engineering party, it was really fun. Except for the dramatics surrounding Mike's girlfriend which was not fun and I felt really bad but I didn't know what to do because I'm hardly ever in that situation. But anyway, then me and dave left for the Glee Club party and that was really fun too!
I ran into people I knew, including Alex from work who is absolutely hilarious! I wanted to get home reasonably early because the parents were coming up early today but did I? No. I got in around 4:00 am. and Coincidentally, so did Karen, so obviously I had to ask her how her date went with Model Scott. So I didn't make it to bed until around 5-ish.

Woke up at 10 and now for the best part!
Winston came to Ann Arbor! He had a blast and he was the cutest thing out there! Everybody said so. (which made me sad because aren't I supposed to be the cutest thing? Just kidding, of course) we went to the Arb and through the Diag and of course stopped into Steve and Barry's to say hello. Now it's sad that he's gone, I miss him! He's the cutest thing ever and he was soo good for me! And he kept making sure I was with him and when I'd sit down, he'd jump in my lap. I told you he's perfect!

Well, after he left, I had to go to work and I really did almost go crazy! No sleep, nothing to do, not a good combination. But I made it off ok and now I've got lots of homework to do.

Just as a heads up, the next entry will probably be sports related, so if you don't want to know about it, DON'T READ IT.

Conference and Convention....success?
Ok, so let's outline Karen's visit so you can see how much fun we had.

Karen came here around 5:30? and then we headed to the mall where we went shopping for like 2 hours but came back unsuccessful since we had no idea where we were going to go at night and so we didn't know how we wanted to look so we didn't know what to buy.

We got back here around 7, but I had to go to a stupid reading for English class. So I went and Karen just hung out (i'm assuming?) I made it back here around 7:30/ 7:45 and we decided to do something for dinner.

Well, since we didn't buy close, we decided to spend our money on dinner. We bought $46 worth of food! But it was Outback and it was sooo good. Karen had barbeque ribs, I had a steak, we got cheese fries, salads, baked potatoes, we had so much food! So we had our dinner, a little sex on the beach and just kind of relaxed watching Coyote Ugly. (which, we have to do. We'd be so good at being bartenders)

So, we were looking for a place to go (and NOT a hockey party. Oh god, can you imagine...NO way) And it turned out on of my friends called us just when we were deciding, so we headed to his frat. HAHA, yes we went to a Frat party! Isn't that hilarious?

So it took us FOREVER to get cute, but we finally managed and we went. It was really weird being in a frat house (very dirty too) and I was kind of thinking we should leave, but then we hung out on the roof and it was really cool (there was a 9-iron up there, I was set) Karen met this boy from Brother Rice (actually, we met two) and was talking to him and totally freaked me out when she disappeared! I was so scared, I called Shannon because I didn't know what to do! But I found her and it was all good.

We stayed there till about 4:00 am and then decided we should leave. And as we were leaving, like EVERYONE was staring at us. We're like "what the hell?" but we left (us two girls, walking back to West Quad by ourselves at 4:00 in the morning) We're walking back and like four cars stop by and are like "you girls want a ride?" and we are smart girls and said "uhh...no." because what kind of an idiot would you be to get into a car with four strangers (guys) and you are not driving! VERY SCARY

But that's not scary part! So we're walking (I think we were at Hill and Oakland) and we start hearing this really scary noise like animals fighting or dying or something. We can't see what it is and we're totally freaked out and we don't want to walk across Hill to State, so we take off running up Oakland. We don't stop until we get to Monroe. Then, we safely make it to West Quad and we get ready for bed and gossip for like an hour. I'm pretty sure we go to bed around 5:00.

Wake up at 9:30 and karen left by 10:00. Winston was supposed to come up at 12, but it looked like it was going to rain, so he didn't come. (Of course, if you look outside now, you'll see that it's BEAUTIFUL outside!)

But that was our night and it was a BLAST! And I can't wait to go home for the summer where we will have even more fun adventures.

And if you're wondering, did we live up to the away message (Beyonces Naughty Girl and hte Singles motto) The answer is...yes. But, in all fairness, I had someone else on my mind and now I'm in trouble because why do the obsessive ones always seem to find me? (but I did get some good insight on what I should do with my current dilemma. I think it could be promising)

Ok, that was friday! Hope you all had as much fun as we did!

Mmmm AMAZING!
Today has overall been a good day!
Mum has changed from being a fascist dictator to being a friend to capitalists everywhere! That's right, my baby Winston Churchill is coming to see me on Saturday (12-3 in case you want to meet him and I know you do because he is PERFECT!!)

Did you catch the wings today? Oh, that's right! Z scored the first goal AND had an assist on the second. Can you say amazing? Yeah, that's what I thought. (That's why you need me for a fan, because my boys are amazing.)

Well, aside from feeling like the ugliest girl on campus (attributing to the fact that I'm not a SAC (and if you don't know what that is...you don't need to. Just know, it's not me.) or a whore) I think i've moved on from that "phase". Because after all, it's a privilege to be associated with this Diva and if you are too stupid to see that, obviously you aren't good enough to be around me.

Lastly, Karen is coming up TOMORROW for some FUN! Look out, we're on a mission...
