WELCOME TO LOVE STREET
Hi, and welcome to 'Love Street'...everyone is always welcome on love street...this is possibly the most important page on this whole site...'cuz it gives you the chance to do something for someone else, and hey, that should make you feel great!!! On one of my other pages it talks about that I was a "child of the 60's and 70's", and I truly believe that that has a whole lot to do with how I perceive the world around me...one of the main things I think that I miss about those days is that people used to ALWAYS help each other!!! We didn't ask people who needed a ride if they had money for gasoline...we jus' gave them a ride! We shared what we had with each other, and we accepted people as they were, and it didn't matter what kind of clothes you wore, or what your hair looked like, or what kind of car you drove, what religion u were, or the color of your skin...all that was just not that important...anyway on this page you will find some of the causes that I support...and you can support them too...just by clicking a button...simple huh??? This is also the page where I share a little about myself and what I believe, etc...so please read on k???
There were so many good things to remember about the 60's, and early 70's that it is really hard to find a place to start, but I think the LOVE you felt between people and the willingness to HELP each other was one of the main, if not, the main thing. Another thing was that we wanted to CHANGE things!!! And there are too many groups, to even begin to name them all here, that got their starts back then that have really gone on to make some sweeping changes in all facets of our lives...from civil rights to ecology, and everything in between!!! Jus' ordinary people like you and me, working together to accomplish a common goal...a better world...and more tolerance for things that were different from ourselves...not WRONG, just DIFFERENT!!! I am not sure what has happened since then...but today the almighty dollar controls everything...people really don't care too much about their brothers and sisters...it is sad cuz there is so much that people can do when they unite together, instead of hating each other over things that do not matter at all in the grand scheme of things IMHO....
I am 44, single, have two great kids, and four great stepkids too...I have really tried to instill in my kids to be independent thinkers. Not jus to do what every one else thinks is cool, but to think for themselves, and make decisions wisely in their lives, sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't, but they are pretty independent on the whole...I love animals, and they are one of my main 'causes' I guess you would say. I love all types of art and music, experiencing different cultures, and meeting new people. I am a typical pisces person, who tends to look at the world thru rose-colored glasses most of the time...I still have faith in the human spirit, and God (whatever or whoever, you perceive that to be), and still believe that there is alot of good in this world...I believe it still has a chance, but we would certainly have to make a lot of changes...still I choose to believe...
