This is a collection of photos from our Lake Nippissing 2004, Fishing weekend Feb 13-15, Yeah, we went fishing over valentines day. That is because we are not a bunch of whipped boys. We had a great time fishing with Rob's Fishing Charters. A very complete weekend deal. We will go back next year of course even though the catch rate was not very high this year.
Loading up to head out to the Hut Loading up to head out to the Hut Loading up to head out to the Hut Brian with a dandy Ling!
The whole team near beside one of the huts Jason entering the hut Lots of ice on this weekend Eric with a nice witefish, and Gary stealing some of the glory!
Another shot of the team Eveningg over frozen Nippissing Nice cold morning at minus 42 deg c windchill I can't remember, were we drinking when this photo was taken??
Free drilling by the operators! A true rogues gallery! Gary's very private fish hut,"Gary supports catch and release fishing, and has just let go of a baker's dozen of Brown trout"" And then Bob had to come along and shake his hand for letting all the Browns go!
Just trying to be cool in sub zero weather. Unloading the gear upon arrival John taking a break from all the biting fish to pose for the photo! I thought there was supposed to be beer involved in ice fishing, I got ripped off!
Looks like Scotty giving us the thumbs up from his cell! Beautiful place in winter. Hey why don't you buy your own winter gear! This might be Bob, but who knows for sure.
Brian, Eric and Greg, trying to find Greg's sunglasses. You might want to try below our ice hut Greg! Father and son out for some action! Greg had to congratulate our catch and release brown trout fisherman. Brian, Greg, Don, Gary and Jason, with Bob taking this brilliant photo!
I never get tired of a frozen lake! Another shot of the ice huut showing a bit of the setup. Bob out there and relaxing, and a good thing, he complaing all weekend about how much he has to does around the house, cooking, cleaning, vaccuuming! (The team thinks he is whipped!) John, maybe we should save some of that bait for supper, the fish don't seem to be biting.
John out on a social visit to our hut. I think this is the best picture of the trip! Now how do you expect to catch fish like that? Gary is proud of Greg, taking time out of his knitting course to hang with the guys!
Here's Jason asking Dad, "Please sir can I have some more?" Uh, no. Well here is Eric serving up a plate of, um, er, well I guess nothing, that is a fancy tip-up! A very nice shot of Father and Son enjoying the weekend. Looks liks Greg wants to get in on the "Father and Son" thing too.
We got out of this hut fast when we realised that the naked guy was there!! Scotty over at the shack for a visit. Welcome Scott! Bob trying to figure out "them fancy light things" on a camera. He never did the poor soul. Jason enjoying some of the "haven't got skunked yet" fishing action. Hope was high when this shot was taken.
Quick Brian, move to the left now.......!!!!! I am no expert, but that looks like a double Bacardi and Coke. Our chef hard at it, warming up some awesome chili that Bob's wife made for the team. Thank you Joyce! Cheers Bob! Damn, it is just like your bubba hut, with holes in the floor and a place for your friends to have a sleep over!
Very early on in the trip, but you can see the hope of catching a fish, slipping away in Bob's eyes.. Greg jigging, and look, the sunglasses are on his hat, I hope they don't slip soon or they could land on the floor. What are the odds that they would go down the hole? John is throwing out a few prayers toward the god's of good fishing. It didn't really work did it John?
On our way home we stopped for breakfast, hey looks it is the "Chopper boys"!!! Of course Bob islaughing, he just plugged the restaurant toilet! But at least he is releived!
